Default EJ22T into 93 L Wagon 5spd/EJ22 into 93 SS auto swap.

Ok, ok... I know, probably gone over this swap a gazillion times. WHATEVA! I just acquired a 93 SS with an auto trans for very short money, and I want to swap the 85,000 mile motor, hood, bumper, brakes, audio, white door handles, and anything else I can pirate from this perfect specimen into my 93 L wagon to make it cooler then it already is. Luckily, both cars are white! yay! After I'm done swapping all the cool stuff from the SS into the boost-challenged wagon, I'll throw it out on my front yard with a (cheap but still profitable) price on it and send it on its merry way. So, gimme some threads, some info, questions, whatever you want. Anything would be killer. Just please dont flame because I have one goal in mind here, and thats not to fight with ppl looking to flame. KAPEESH!? lol Thanks subie doods, GIMME SOMETHING TO READ INSTEAD OF WORKING THROUGH MY DAY! LOL -J. Smiley

just curious, how do you propose dealing with the ecu issues? you cant run a turbo motor on an n/a ecu without some sort of compensation...

He has a whole car with an auto ecu which i believe he can use. My son (16) is currently doing his 3rd swap. 93ss wagon into 90 FWD Sedan.

I believe either you need a mt ecu, or you simply swap the ecu and not the tcu... I cant remember which one...

Turbo ECU's are the same between AT & MT cars. You just need to have the AT/MT ident pin correctly pinned.

I've got a lot of info on my swap write up www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap

I swapped a 91 auto ss engine into MT 93 L sedan. One tricky part, which vrg3 over at legacy central helped me with, was that addition of a diode to get power to the ECU. Apparently legacys have it and Imprezas don't. Reconfiguring all the ecu pins took about 4 hours.

But I'm going from a Leg to a Leg, so will I still need to do this DIODE addition you speak of? I should be going to Vegas to retrieve my trophy doner in the next couple of weeks. I want to do all the research and parts buying before the car gets here so I can crank it out in a few days. Ill have the help of a fellow grease monkey who is no stranger to swaps. We just finished quite the frankenstein, an 89 Honda CRX with a 6 bolt 4G63 swap. The car tears custom axles up like toothpicks! And a camoflauge tri-diamond pattern paint job to throw off the compitition. So needless to say this swap should be a cinch. The car is the 1st of less the a half dozen Honda to DSM swaps in the country, and is a real eye opener to everyone. Check it out!!! http://4g63crx.bravehost.com

No, you won't need to mess with the diode.
