Default ej22 n/a -> turbo

I have a dual port ej22 in a sand car. it currently running on a microsquirt ecu and only using the following sensors.
-crank pos.
-cam pos.
-intake temp sensor
-Map sensor
-water temp
- wide band 02

the car is naturally aspirated now and stripped to only the essentials needed to make it run. the car is all stock minus walbro 255 fuel pump, custom intake and exhaust. it is currently making about 165whp through a built vw bus transmission.

i would like to turbo this car
* I know alot of people will tell me to get an ej22t or an ej20 etc. im not going to do that.

i would like to make around 200-220 hp. i have a td04 and a k03 from different projects i am planning to use one or the other.

this motor is in a sand car so i have alot of room for plumbing no concern about smog or noise and have the ability to make exhaust and intake.

does anyone any advice about how much boost, which turbo, or anything else for this build?

Well, you already have your turbo.

Just run it at wastegate pressure which should give you around 8psi.

Running a td04 on an EJ251 at wastegate pressure gave me 180 AWHP on a MUstang dyno. You should be able to meet your power goals with that setup.

Now, unless that EJ22 is built, there is no way it is making 165whp. It only made ~140 at the crank when new. If it's built, start over. Because NA to make 165whp is going to be a high compression engine which is no good for a turbo.

Default Ej251 boost

Hey I was wondering if ya ever got the project done. Started my own and had a couple questions of some issues the car has been giving me at 7-10 psi
