There is nothing wrong about it. It's smart. Just because I'm going to race my car doesn't mean I am going to beat on it senselessly. I got my car to drive. I love to drive. While driving it I want to still maintain it. Tape, for a few bucks a roll, will help keep it pretty.

I'd rather have shreds of tape there instead of shreds of bumper.

I doubt tape will prevent your bumper from coming off. but it should spare the paint.

Sounds like a great excuse for me to get a new bumper and shave it.

a little more mud... so are the instructors only for the inexperianced? i can navigate a course but i still have a lot to learn. everyone has differant styles the more you can introduce yourself to the better. also a ride in your buddies car will get you signed up for the next event alot faster then watching your buddy drive.great recruitment tool would the instructors take on this role as well?

Damion's tape makes sense. Save the paint, enjoy driving. And he doesn't even drive a "rally car" like some Canuckien Hosers out there.

I'm not sure who would be riding along as a novice instructor during this event (coughs), and am not sure if we'll have fun runs afterwards. Sometimes fun runs allow for "ride-alongs". We'll just have to see.

It's the first event in quite some time, so kinks will likely be ironed out.

Have patience.

I am looking for a couple of people to help with tech for this event. PM me if you are interested. Should be quick work, there won't be too many vehicles and we can get it done quickly if we have a few volunteers for tech.

I think Mav was planning to help you with that. I'll be helping JordyB with timing and scoring.

So you're really not going to enter the Region's first RallyCross*? Just gonna be Ms. Hope's flag "guy" (like F1) and crew?

Phil, will you consider running the May and "summer" events, or is it just "new car" and ain't gonna bugger it up? I'm curious...

I'll re-consider in the summer time. I'm just not about to cruise around a frozen course because if I went any faster, my $600 front bumper lip will break off. I can't just cruise around. Kinda like Ricky Bobby "I'm going FAST!" I wouldn't be able to drive real slow and still have fun. So when the warm earth has more give to it, I'll be out there to play.

I'll believe it when I see it. and no, that freaking $600 front lip better not break because no way in hell am I buying another!

I know my car will get banged up, beat on and then some from just parking at the mall, so it makes no difference to me. But then again, I also don't mind other people driving my car either.
