Default wheel spin, engine off, in gear

So I went to rotate my tires, all 4 tires are off the ground. I had loosened the lug nuts while the car was still on the ground, and then had the car lifted. Car is in 1st gear, hand brake is up. Went to loosen/remove lugs, both front wheels spun in the same direction. Didnt matter what gear. I released the hand brake just to see if the rears did the same while in gear, and they also both spun. I only did 180 degrees max.
However, once back on the ground, the transmission has no issues keeping the wheels from moving on a hill while in gear and engine off.
Why is that? I dont recall my 2008 WRX or 2005 WRX doing that....

You have open differentials front and rear that's probably why.
The 2005 had lsd rear open front, 2008 should be the same.

Weird, you sure they are spinning in the same direction?
Usually when the input shaft is locked on an open diff, if you spin one wheel, the other will spin backwards.
