in response to question... the RR sticker is the simplest way i could think of to at least have a chance to know that your not parking near the A-hole thats going to take paint, its just a symbol, with a simple meaning, the owner of this car is like you so park near me and park safe, course there needs to be alot of them out there for it to work well, and since i just started u may not see one for awhile, i tried to have fire shoot out of it but it was too expensive, as far a the ding guarantee, if you park next to a car with the RR decal you dont have to worry about dings riderespect.com

Oh man, I'd have to put those on every car at my work. I have never seen so many people who can't park for ****. Seriously, we have to parallel park on the street, and they always leave 7/8 of a car length in front and behind them. That way you can't get another car in there.

I've pretty much given up on keeping the outside of my wagon looking nice. Had it a month and got 2 pretty serious door dings already. Nobody parks by me at work, nobody parks by me at my apartment, so I know it's gotta be happening the rare times when I go shopping or out to eat. SLC drivers have no respect for other people's vehicles.

I got my car messed up !!! I got a long but not deep key mark on my passenger side doors

I also either got hit by a tow hook on a big truck or someone just stomped/punched my fender. It a huge dent and I cant pop it out because of the engine bay sides. Or I can but I got to see my insurance for the painting -.-

I got a lot of door dings too... Its the worst when their paint gets on your car! Like a white car with a random blue streak sucks !!!

Generally I found college campuses to be OK for car treatment. There are typically enough other auto enthusiasts around that people will respect your ride.

The #1 culprits are soccer moms. They are too busy fussing with the kids or too distracted by yacking on the cell phone to give a damn about anything vehicle related. Oddly enough these people are also the worst drivers and worst parkers. I try my best to avoid driving or parking near soccer mom type vehicles (minivans, large SUVs, Lexuses, etc.)

Personally I think all minivan drivers should have their licenses revoked.

You are 100% correct...those eff'n soccer moms... not only do they behave like you've just described but they drive ridiculously slow or inconsistently, swerve all over the place..and the worst... they do not move over to the right lane for others to pass!!

lol, there are MANY people who could care less if they fling their door into your car. I have recieved my very first "micro" ding on the car and although the average person cant see it, it stands out to me like a naked women walking down the street. Things like this suck but thats life.

Does anyone else notice that even though you'll park in East bumblephoek part of a lot where there's no cars, you come back to like 6 bro-dozers and some minivans all hard parked having a meet around your stuff???

This is my mother... almost to a T. But I swear I'll slap her if she gets a dent in her new Boxster S.

....shouldn't be a surprise. The demographics of this community have been shifting that way for a while now. ....part of the reason I got rid of my WRX after 8 years.

I go out of my way to park as far away from people as possible. My wife thinks I'm crazy. If the lot is small, I'll go for the spot next to the curb. Even then - I'm paranoid as all hell.

Long story shortened ;
Dude hits my license plate/front bumper[no damage to bumper] of my car [before my STi]as I am exiting a coffee shop with a friend,I asked ask her to wait inside the coffee shop for 5 minutes as this douche bag is trying like hell to leave ,as cars are passing him, keeping him stationary.
I walk past my car,saw the plate was bent [It was an out of state plate rendering it not easy to replace]I walk up to his door, open up my zipper of my jacket,he sees my side arm,I say ''step out'',he does ...I point to my plate and say...''$300 or let the games begin''
He walks across the street to the ATM,takes out money, then adds money from his wallet, hands it to me...he leaves.
I grab my pal,we get in my car, I hand her $150,and say ''sorry for the drama, here's half'' and shes all like'' whaaaat''?

My theory is this-If you can't handle the dings,it should be a garage queen.
OR-If you keep a surplus of cash [under 200] for PDR,and hold out on un nec mods in order to keep such a surplus,
you will not let it effect your daily driving concerns.

I agree with everything you said except this. The number of auto enthusiasts here is dwarfed, exponentially, by the number of asshat, idiot drivers who are of only the most incompetent type. I have seen some of the worst driving in my life here. I don't want to say it's the 60% of the campus that's female...but they're mostly the ones I'm talking about. Not discounting the idiot male drivers though.

Not going to lie, I'd call the cops on your ass in a heartbeat. Regardless of whether you have a concealed weapons permit, using a gun to "convince" someone to exit their car and get money out of an ATM is definitely grounds to get the authorities involved. It's a bent license plate man, sounds like big man with a gun needs to chill. Also....way to live by your own "theories". You should edit it to "My theory is this-if your car gets damaged in a daily driving situation flash a gun". "$300 or let the games begin".....lol, what a tool.
