Thanks Guys! I have a really nice synthetic sealant that works really well. Nothing stands up to the heat but, the sealant makes next clean up easier.

That does look nice! Hand apply the polish to the exhaust then buff with cone, or apply to cone so forth?

Sorry, I suck at detailing but my exhaust is getting black from running rich/carbon buildup and I don't like that.

Orbital, what exhaust do you have?

I used Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish and a Mother's Ball Cone Style. Apply polish to exhaust, then at slow speed work it in to decrease sling. Once worked in a little it's balls to the wall.

^^Not that often! The polish and Sealant help with removal of crap on next clean up. Basically, when the car gets washed, so does the exhaust with it's own soft tire brush.

If it starts to yellow or get's really bad i'll pop it off and shine her up. Easy then because it's been polished before.

Looks awesome. Thanks for this. Can't wait to see what this does to my Borla Hush tips. What kind of sealant are you using?

Did you need to use fine grit steel wool to get those "spots" off? Im assumig you used a machine to polish it. looks really good

I have never and will never use wool. I used a cordless drill, mothers polish, and the mothers cone ball.

^^^The muffler and tip should clean up nicely. As for the piping, it depends upon the quality of it. What brand exhaust is that?

the muffler and the tip are not bad at all..its a custom made exhaust. 2.5 inch piping and DNX mufflers (bought it used for $100). Not sure of the quality of the piping or anything. I'm going to assume its the cheapest stuff out there.

So would I. The piping probably won't come out that good, but the muffler and tip should.

What would you recommend for the parts with the extreme rust?

You saw my pics and the exhaust was never taken care of. I doubt the piping even tries to clean up but you can try. Just work in a little spot by hand first and see if it cleans up. If not, bad juju for you and just skip to the muffler and tip. I used the PowerCone and it worked well. Just takes time and patience!

Looks great, Mothers alum and mag polish is the best. As for wax.. I think the only wax that may stand a chance is Collinite 845. Considering it was developed for high voltage, fires and explosions.. it should be able to stand the heat of the exhaust.
