Default Process west verticooler?

Hi,

Was wondering if anybody tried this out and whether it really offers the advantages it claims. Here's a link:
https://www.importimageracing.com/products/process-west-verticooler-top-mount-intercooler-subaru-wrx-2008-2014

I think most people run FMIC to solve this issue but I really want to keep a TMIC and a functional scoop, so this seems like a good compromise and cleans up the bay a bit as well.

Any feedback is appreciated ....

Thanks

Well, i can't offer personal experience, but I know a few guys local to me who have it and when asked about how they like it, they can't shut up about it.

It's also been recommended by a few local-to-me tuners when I ask about IC upgrades. Basically, to save money but gain some performance, go Process West TMIC. To gain a lot of power potential for whatever goals you may have down the road, get a front mount.

Thanks for the input, if they can't shut up about it, it must be worth looking into a bit more.

I do have one in my 2011, I haven't really had any heat soak issues, I'm at 100hp over stock on stock engine with bolt ons plus turbo and it really made a difference while tuning the car according to the tuner. it really stays cooler than other setups, can definitely be touch without burning your hand on hot days. I had to modify the brackets a bit to get rid of some rubbing against the hood. but I'm very pleased with it. Fmic will definitely get you more peak power but the feeling on the throttle might be talk for another day.

Verticooler, along with the GrimmSpeed and KillerB TMICs are all very efficient- all about the same. VC is a cool concept, but logs have shown it's the three TMICs I mentioned are all almost the same in terms of cooling/performance. Find the cheapest you can from those, or alternatively, PRL offers a FMIC for only about $150 more than a new one of those.

My Verticooler has been on my WRX for about 25k. Its an excellent top mount that will support more boost/power. I also added a intercooler water sprayer.

Default process west verticooler

hey guys just recently installed my verticooler for my 16 wrx and I've been having some issues with my car going passed 3 thousand RPMs before stuttering and shaking a bit before I ease off the gas. I was told I may need a tune but ive also read that its recommended but not required. can someone please help me figure this out!

If it was running fine before and you installed something new and its now buggered, you likely buggered something during the install. Redo it or farm it out to a pro as we can't diagnose cars or cancer online. And if you want real help online, it starts with:

1. Using a PC vice your phone on the toilet.
2. Posting great pictures if needed.
3. Providing a huge level of detail.

You are violating all three rules.

I have a verticooler and it's awesome. The only issue I've had is clearance with the BOV so make sure thats not hitting anything and you'll be fine.
