So which "Red" matches the sti manifold or the one in the begining? There seems to be a couple different reds out there, which one is the norm... for people to use?

I would definatly rock the pink but I think there will be too many colors under my hood... red intake manifold, blue cusco bracket, green tein hood dampers... it's a freaking mess...lol

Ha, I didn't know there was any big deal about Fusion paint, I used Duplicolor engine enamel on my last Impreza, it came off fairly quickly.

I'll probably do this to my car, OEM yellow looks too cheesy. Anyone tried black yet?

Little weekend project for me. Thanks!

I'm sick of the yellow, it looks so "Caterpillar"

So... I am taking it WAY to far with the red paint...

I just took off the tow hook from the back side of my sti and I have about 30 coats of red paint on it...

It's sooooo dark right now that I can't even tell it's painted but hopefully in the morning it will look nice.. a touch of red...heheheh
Plus it's something very subtle :-)

Will take pics in the morning to see how it turned out!

I did have to sand away the rust and that nasty gray paint from the tow hook... but after that it's pretty easy to spray paint.

Thanks everyone and hopefully if enough people do it... Subaru will learn to color coordinate yeah right...
The red (and other colours) do look nice, but in Subaru's defense, the yellow is a very smart strategy. Basically anything under the hood that is yellow is related to end user maintainence, for either checking or filling. If it blends, then it's easily missed Hence the use of the yellow. I actually prefer the yellow, so I'm lucky
