Well, I would expect a wheel name to be written out in Katakana, like Rays is, and the Katakana in the first paragraph is limited to "Rays," the word someone said was wheels, "inch" "big size" "rim" "tire" "set" "not?" "parts." the second paragraph's katakana only mentions "normal," "suspension kit," and "damper." my Japanese is way too rusty to attempt translating anything that is actually a Japanese word, lol, but I suspect the name you seek is not in that last picture.

all I see in that paragraph is:
Rays, 5-spoke, 1-piece, model, front 4-pot, rear 2-pot caliper, gold color, STi logo center cap, front 3mm, rear 5mm spacer

I would just call them RE B20's. They look identical but in a different size. Japanese people are all about rare, one of, limited editions. Most likely your set was a special release like someone else mentioned.

You quote something from over a month ago just to rant about a subject that has never even been broached in this thread? Who said anything about wanting decals?

Translation: I posted in the wrong thread, but God forbid I ever admit I'm wrong about anything.

I've seen his other thread. It was started more than a month after the post in this thread which you quoted and started ranting about. You even replied in his other thread. That makes it even more confusing that two or three days later you would then bump this thread, which was never about decals, and quote a post, which wasn't about decals and was made 35 days before he posted a separate thread about decals, so that you could post a typical, unnecessarily profane rant about decals.

But you're right. I'm trolling you.

Normally I'm all about "Scotty knows best". But this is just ****ing dumb. Forgive me for trying to find out exactly where these came from.

I've searched, done reverse image searches, I've checked other forums and even ****ing tried to translate Japanese for gods sake. I'm no damn noob who is just asking for the easy answer.

Also, I thought out of all people you would appreciate that I'm trying to get authentic stickers to replace the damaged one.

Default Not sure if this has been answered

These wheels didn't have a name.

They were first available in a brochure as an option for the S201.

They were then available a for a short time in an STi catalogue - part of that catalogue is shown above. They could in theory be ordered then as a separate set or as an option on any Version 6 STi

To my knowledge they were never offered after 2000

They were intended to evoke the look of the TE 37's but are substantially stronger and slightly heavier wheels. The spokes are solid whereas TE 37 are hollowed slightly. Also the rims are 1/2 mm thicker.

To my mind they are really only a street wheel as the brakes on a Version 6 have enough trouble stopping the 17's on a track.

Probably would be an awesome track wheels for a Version 7 ra Spec C though with those big brembos!!

I'm sticking with the same wheel but 16 inch on my Version 6 ra Limited - light, easy on the brakes - and a good selection of semi slicks available for track days!!

Good info, Heres a page showing them on a forester STi variant.. Definately an option wheel then.

http://www.sti.jp/typeM/stitune_chassies.html

click on the "Equipment for STi tune" link to the left.

Here they are in my car.

I used to have a set on my blue MY98 the fozza version also give you an extra 2mm of poke over the STi version (48mm on fozza vs 50mm offset on the STi version)

Default Rays RE B20

I found a set of these wheels, but they have been refinished in a dark gray powder coat.

Any thoughts on which lug nuts to use for these wheels? I know they are flat seat OEM style. My car has extended studs on it, I think one of the previous owners ran spacers so they needed the longer studs.

Are there any good flat seat open end lug nuts for forged aluminum wheels like these?
