Does it suck? Seems to not have the suck. However, how do you load software on it? Give me some alternatives if it sucks. This would just be for internet surfing and looking a pictures, etc. Thanks OT. Patrick

![]() Look at the 10.1" Aspire one and EEE 1000HE and 1000HA. I have not loaded much software on my netbook, just openoffce, picasa, gimp and ubuntu and those were all downloads.

![]() Ah yes...an external drive.
The Asus is a bit more...do you think it is worth it? The screen is bigger for sure. Patrick |

![]() I have a Acer Aspire One and I love it. I got it as a christmas gift before the ASUS version came out. Regardless the Acer is a great little netbook, it is perfect for my travels as it is light and small and has the power I need. When traveling to some countries and taking little puddle jumper planes around, being limited to weight and size of luggage the size helps greatly. I also have a 17" Dell workstation that goes with me most places but is to heavy for a fair amount of my traveling. I do wish the Aspire had a longer battery life but I seem to make do.

![]() I bought my wife the Acer Aspire One a week ago and she loves it. Granted the screen is a little small, it's fine for web browsing and email, etc.
The only drawback is that they don't include a restore DC/DVD. I had to buy an external burner and screw around for hours to get it to work because the Acer software would not accept a DL DVD drive. ![]() |
