![]() I was thinking of just putting a bigger turbo on my 04 wrx but am worried about warranty issues so I thought maybe the STI turbo would fit the 2.0l wrx motor and would gain more boost and hp.
Is that even possible with little modifications? Thanks Paul

![]() Yeah im reading enough bs that I wont touch it until I still have it and its over. Ive read alot of issues with aftermarket parts with the dealers. Even Subaru said that they wouldnt warranty it to the related part only though, but Im still afraid of getting screwed. Maybe I should ask my local dealer...
Just a thought that if they saw stock they couldnt say anything... |

![]() won't work. The sti turbo is bigger. The sti motor is "built" to handle the "larger" turbo. It's a load of crap, a WRX motor can easily handle a vf39, but Subaru won't honor it. You would also need different injectors and fuel pump and engine management, all of which are easily noticable. If you want you warentee, don't touch your car, sorry mang.

![]() will it work, yes. will you still have warranty, only if you have a tech that doesn't know the difference in the turbos.

![]() Hello all I'm actually doing this right now with an old 2004 wagon. If I put the larger STI turbo on there, will it run okay if I do not upgrade injectors, fuel pump and any engine management? Just stock ECU. However I'm not worried about warranty LOL

![]() My guess, it will go lean. Do you plan on a AFR gauge? At least then, you can see what happens. |
