I see where you're coming from. The main problem I had was room. It was hard to get the angles that I wanted. I only brought my 85mm with me so it got a little tight at times. I have a bunch that I'm going to edit completely different than I usually do, but I'll put those in my thread. Here is the other one that I really like, with my signature car pose, lol.

I've been whoring this out pretty much everywhere so why not here as well?
A few other photos I've done. Thoughts and comments? |

I think it might be cleaner without the power lines and poles, but otherwise I like the light on the car quite a bit. I personally would probably try to add some clouds in there, but that's my personal preference

Light on the car looks fine to me...maybe a tiny bit blown out, but not too much at all. Honestly if anything I'd darken the tires a little bit since they look a little grey. The one thing that bugs me is the lack of detail in the background, not to mention the weird halo effect that's going on where the hill meets the sky. There's also some weird red remnant on the right side of the frame in the sky.

It's also funny that you used examples from Andrew in regards to the car being close to the color of the background, because I had the same critiques for those photos of his too I think the car gets a little lost with a similar colored background, but that's just my opinion. |

Your last photo seems to be lacking in contrast and saturation, and the roof of the car is blown out. If you're going for the desaturated look, that's totally fine, but you definitely need more contrast in there since the whole thing seems a bit washed out. |

Your locations are what kill these photos the most. The chain link fence with the sign with another vehicle in the background in the first pic and the neighborhood with the power lines and the chimney growing out of the truck just aren't places I'd try to shoot. The truck's also a bit too close to the left edge in both photos, yet also rather centered vertically as well. |

The last shot was done that way intentionally. I shot into the sun to try to give it that look. I knew it wouldn't look technically right but I was just playing around with different stuff. Thanks for the advice though. The lighting wasn't the best. The sun kept going in and out and was giving me problems.

I'll try it out later. Here's two more that I went with a different look.

INKMAN, I love your car....
....but I HATE your front plate, man!! I know it's probably a huge PITA, but if you can take the plate off the front for photos, I think you will like your pictures much better. It seems that every time I am getting into the flow of your pictures I have to start over when I see that bright white and blue plate, as it sticks out in weird angles and does not compliment the colors of the car. Anyway I would have liked the first one more if you turned the wheels a little, as the straight-on look seems a bit awkward. I do love the de-saturated look and think it goes perfectly with the worn-down speed limit sign! In the second one I love the close crop and the monotone, but everything gets a little busy and lost towards the front passenger side; it could be the white corner separator on the bricks or some other combination of stuff. It also seems a bit soft. Maybe a little more contrast (without blowing out the whites) would give it some needed depth! |

I agree with you man. It is a PITA to take it off. I guess If a planned far enough ahead I could remove it and dig up my bumper cap. Honestly most of the time it's not even planned when I go out. It's usually me sneaking out if the kids are napping quick, lol. I would love to have no front plate but a loud red car already gets a lot of attention and they are pretty strict about the front plate in NY. I also feel rushed when I go out because I usually don't have the time and I think that has an effect on my pictures as well. (not to make excuses).
I appreciate the input though and maybe I'll play around with them some more when I have time to see if I can improve them. Also don't be afraid to leave some critiques on my Flickr page! |

Played around with it a little more. Cropped it tighter and cloned some stuff out the best I could. Better? Worse?

Cool thanks...unfortunately I can't use that one unless I drill a hole into my bumper (since my bumper doesn't have a stock tow hook opening). I guess I'll have to custom fab something to use my stock unused foglight mounting bracket or something.

Weird! Does it have the option to go to the home page when you click on it? Mine does. I just tried Ultimateone's and his worked. Anyone else having this problem?
