Question Cusco Rear Lower Arm Bar

Just installed the Cusco rear lower arm bar and noticed that the packaging states "This product is designed for use in japan only. It must not be used in any other country". So what's up with that?

Do you think the bar will still fit if there is a diff protector installed? From the pic I can't tell how much clearence there may be.

I had the same question, so I asked Mrs. Pam D. from Isr, and this was she answer:

"Hi,
The arm bars came in & it cleared an Impreza with a rear diff protector
Pam"

So It will fit I think, I will order one for me.. then I will post results.

I got sti ver. 5 suspension with 20 mm rear bar, I really wonder if this bar will make any change...

IIRC, someone had said that there was pretty much no point in doing this unless you had a full suspension setup in the car, then it might help a little bit.

Also, by the pics that someone posted on this topic on the General board, it looks like there is no way that it'll clear the rear diff protector. If it does, I bet it is just barely...

Cool

The bar will not help at all, going to the store or church on sundays...this is for serious suspension stiffening for rallys, rallyx and maybe track days or autox. Soccer moms need not apply, but it does look great and the weight is towards the rear,if you need some ballast. Get the rear strut tower bar first and if that is noticeable, you may deserve the lower bar. ymmv

Yes, the bar clears the differential protector, just barely. I was concerned that it might hit during some maneuvers; but I have made four high-speed runs through Boulder Canyon and it has not hit, yet. I really can't tell any difference; my suspension is STi v6 springs over AGX's (with front bump stops cut in half), Cusco 21mm rear bar w/Whiteline links (front and rear), and Pirelli P7000 Supersports.

Question

UKT, why would you cut the stops? I have the AGX'x coming in and the STi springs off of a Type R STi car from Jpn.

Just waiting on the struts that have been lost in the mail.

SubePwr - KYB recomends cutting the stops if you are using a lowering spring with them to give the strut more travel. I think it says not to cut off more than 1/2, just check the instructions before you do it.

Opie is correct 1/2" is the maximum recommended by KYB.
