Default greedy ppl that cant be happy thier toddler is alive

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/11/1....ap/index.html

Quote:
ORANGE, California (AP) -- Brain scans of a toddler revived two hours after she was believed to have drowned showed no serious problems, a doctor said.

Twenty-month-old Mackayala Jespersen opened her eyes and moved her arms and legs, Dr. James Cappon, a critical-care specialist at Children's Hospital, said Tuesday. Her condition was upgraded Tuesday to serious.

The girl was found floating face down in her family's swimming pool Friday morning and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

About 40 minutes later, police Detective Mike Kendrick was conducting a routine investigation into the death when he noticed the child's chest was moving. He summoned doctors, who were able to revive her.

Spokeswoman Susan Solomon said the hospital was looking into what happened. However, she said, "We believe everything possible was done the right way."

The hospital did not release the names of doctors involved.

Brian Oxman, a lawyer for the girl's family, said relatives had not decided whether to sue the hospital.
What the hell? sue the hosptial...for what? the fact that you dont watch your children and they almost drowned?

yeah, how is the hospital at fault in the slightest.

These idiots through bad parenting allowed the child to end up in the pool in the first place.

people suck

Cracks me up.

That is, perhaps, the worst anti-drug commercial I've ever seen. The one with the guys are the drive-thru is pretty bad too.

one of the most common ways for kids to die.

can you imagine how angry you'd be if your kid was left for dead for 40 minutes by "professionals".

And then what do you do? Beat their asses? Blow them to hell?

Well, I guess a little lawsuit might keep those freakin retards on their toes for next time.

or maybe putting incompetants out of business is a good thing.

ooooh.....I haven't seen that commercial. Dunno if it runs in my area.

I thought he meant the parents of the girl in San Diego, who was kidnapped from her room, while the parents were getting stoned and having a foursome with a swinging couple.

GF!

Only the coroner can declare a person dead at the scene. Blame the coroner, not the hospital.

If the paramedics were called, they did try to resussitate her. If it didn't work, it didn't work. Getting pissy at anyone here is to really miss the whole point.

It's no wonder her parents didn't notice she fell into the pool. They were probably still trying to figure out how to pronounce her name to call for her.

I just noticed
Meka-leka-hy Meka-hyne-ho?

Oh, and rally_wannabe: Can you imagine how angry you'd be if someone wasn't watching your kid when they went in the pool. They're lucky that whatever the doctors did saved that girls life and got her breathing again. They just didn't notice.

The parents are trying to compensate for the life insurance money they almost had. They have every right to sue. The hospital practically stole money from them by keeping the child alive.

[/sarcasm]

rally_wannabe, do you think the doctors were just being negligent? Do you have any idea what doctors and nurses really have to do? They love pronouncing children dead.

There is that sarcasm again.

What they never tell you in these "miracle" stories where some one survives after "drowning" in a pool for 30 minutes, or 7 minutes, or 2 minutes even, is that these "survivors" suffer irreversable brain damage. Their IQs will drop a good 20+ points, if not worse. When it's a young kid, it's hard to tell right away, but I have no doubt that in a few years little Mackalayayala will be a bit slower then her peers. This is in no way the hospitals fault though.

Yes, yes I do.

But for good measure, let's compare her name to the others in the story:

Mike
James
Susan
Bryan

Yep, still difficult.

The reason that the parents are suing is that the child came in near death. They tried to revive her but failed and pronounced the child dead. The hospital then told the parents that the child was dead. Thirty minutes went by and photographer from the police was taking photos of the child’s body for the investigation of the child drowning. He then noticed that the child was breathing. The doctors were called and the child was revived back to life.

So the doctors sent the kid to the morgue although the child was not dead and it took a photographer to tell them she was alive.

Sue? Why do that?

Better idea. They should sue God for making her dead for half an hour.

I'm sure he's got butt loads too.
