Default hmmm weird problem with A/F install

I was installing my A/F gauge today on the a pillar mount and found that the wires arent long enough to reach the ECU. Has anyone else ran into this problem. I bought the gauges from Summit by the way. The only wire I have lying around is speaker wire. Would this work if it came down to extending the wires?
Thanks for the help.

Also I was just curious if I could tap into the power and ground wires on the ECU instead of other methods? I already have an SAFC connected to the ECU so would that be too much going on to the power/ ground wires?
