Looking for any input on these shots. Maybe I missed the mark, but I do enjoy them. I had this car in for a basic+ interior and 1 step exterior detail as my friend is getting it ready to be sold. I didn't have time to really drive the car anywhere to shoot it but I got a few shots before he picked it up. Had tripod and CPL all set up this time

I uploaded the wrong shot here, I have it in PS with a smaller watermark and opacity turned down some.

Please excuse my messy shop, galvanized and white metal sheeting is being installed this week from the floor to the ceiling!

Nice shot! That cactus in the back is bugging the heck out of me though.

Or is it just me?

I agree. It appears to be growing out the car. Other than that I dig the shot.

Thanks! I think it's a bit underexposed. The car/road/trees are a bit dark. That's a nice shot though. I like how the trees frame the car.

Thanks!

It's a fun car to shoot.

Practicing smaller aperture shooting. This was at f/11.

Thanks for the feed back Fl4t, kinda funny my original edit to me seemed odd and so I asked a friends thoughts and he pushed me to darken it. Originally looked like this and I didn't trust my judgement.
That above shot of the Mclaren is hot.

Thanks man! Here's my go at it. Bumped the mids/highlights/increased contrast a bit, lowered darks. Make greens a bit more yellow. Increase yellow highlights, make them a bit more orange, bump the exposure on the right of the car a bit, and add a slight graduated filter to draw the eye from the left of the tree. Added a little bit of clarity to the car. Straightened image. Overall it was a little flat IMO.

Wow amazing enhancements! I appear to have a lot to learn about post.

I need to learn how to enhance items and not just full shots. Thanks for the input it is very helpful.

No problem. You just needed a few minor adjustments to make it come alive. When working with just a single exposure, I always do a pretty basic overall adjustment to get it in the ballpark of how I want it to look, then do separate adjustments for the car, ground, and background. Usually several masks on each. I use mostly LR for the time being, until I learn to use PS better. I use PS mainly for cloning things out.

Ah I have yet to use layer masks in Lr that sounds like a great set of how to videos to search and watch. I just watched a few for Ps but had yet to put them to use.

PS is my clone program for sure. Thank again all this info will help tons.

Tried a few of those techniques out on this shot. Much easier editing in small areas than the whole image. Probably not anything special but I am glad to expand my knowledge of LR and further my skills. Thanks again Fl4t.

Not exactly sure why the front of the car is so reflective as my light source is coming from the back of it. Something to use a gradient mask on to darken?

Thanks man! Those tips will go a long way. I basically had the overall picture edited and then went back like you said. Enhanced clarity of the car, used a gradient mask on the right to enhance the light and sun. Followed that with darkening the right side of the shot and a little of the above background.

Definitely makes a world of difference to the image.
