IF the installer is using a FLCAN, you will only need 1 key assuming it's a coded key in the first place. If the installer is using 556UW, you will need to take 2 keys as you will loose one to gain remote start.

Once again. Those are assuming the key is coded. If a standard non plastic wal-mart cut metal key starts your car, you car does not have a coded key.

My 05 STI had a alarm previously. Which was pulled out by the previous owner.

My car is running off the stock FOB now. The thing is, my dome light DOES NOT light up when the doors are open. (yes the switch is on door!)

BUT the dash lights up with the door indicator when I have a door open.
and I can switch it to ON and the dome light turns on.

Was there a wire that needed to be tapped for an alarm install that would have been messed up after removing the alarm?

Do you need to tap a certain dome light wire or door wire to install an alarm?

I ask these questions to see if I can hunt down the culprit. I have replaced the dome light with a working one already.. bulbs.. and fuses. Did many searches on here and couldn't find anyone with a similar issue/fix.

Yes. You tap into either door trigger or dome light when installing an alarm.
Does it turn on when say the passenger door opens? Or not at all.

FlashLogic has a diagram, but it doesnt seem that it's complete? I havent had a chance to totally draw it out yet, but the Toyota has Priority unlock but FlashLogic only lists a single unlock wire. (Unless Im misunderstanding how Priority Unlock works)

Does the FlashLogic module include an induction coil type thing? Or does it just completely replace that?

(Forgive me, Im new to the whole immobilizer bypass thing)
Finally getting around to this installation.

Anyone know where I can get the proper FlashLogic module preflashed for my car? Ive asked around and the places that will sell me the module, wont flash it unless they install it.

Do you know how to use a multimeter? We need to do some testing... First at the dome light, set meter to 12v DC, hook black to ground, and red to the BLUE wire at the dome light, will require you to remove the dome light. If you have 12V when ANY door is open at that wire, you need a new switch. If it does not work. You'll need to check your wires at the integrated module. Found behind left side of dash. Here is some wiring to help you find it. Pin 2 is Yellow/black, 5 Blue, 7 Yellow, 8 Blue/Orange, 17 Blue/White. Check to make sure none of the wires have been cut or spliced. Three wires trigger the module to do dome lights. The wires should rest at about 12V and then drop to 0v when the door(s)open. Yellow is triggers for all the doors but the drivers. Drivers is Blue/Orange, and trunk/hatch is blue/white all at the integrated module. Happy hunting!

Try a local car audio shop, otherwise you'll have to order the update cable.... BBY probably charge 1/4 hr custom time. $19.99 + tax. Ask around.

This is because the wires that trigger the doors T and one goes to the combination meter (door open light) and the other goes to the integrated module, as explained above.

Sorry to bring this thread up from the past but its pretty informative. I wanted to get some more insight on the Compustar Products. Im looking into purchasing a remote start and alarm for my 2012 WRX and there seems to be great reviews. Which product line do you guys prefer the Pro Series or something different, Im assuming the pro series is the top of the line model.

Hello. I have a 2012 Subaru Impreza base model. I am looking to install a remote starter. I am looking at the viper 4203V. I like this starter because it is a small remote and just has the start feature. I am a good DIY person. I have never installed a remote starter. How complicated are they on a Subaru impreza? I never had a subaru before so I never worked on one and I dont know how coplicated they are to work on. Any recommendations of starters.

I'm getting a '13 Impreza soon and looking to get a Python 5704p remote start system. I called Abt yesterday and they want around $670+ tax to install with a lifetime warranty.

Does anyone know if this is a good price? The system itself costs around $180.
Does annoying know of any local (Northwest IL burbs) shops that can do a quality job with a warranty for less than Abt?

I tried contacting a couple members on this site through PMs and they never responded.

Hey Guys,

I am running a Viper 3303 alarm through a 2002 WRX on my own. I am trying to save some money doing it myself. I have found a couple wiring diagrams and cross match them with what came with the alarm system. But for some reason The doors do not lock/unlock and the parking lights don't flicker as they should. I was wondering if this is possibly an issue with polarity? Any Ideas?

Thanks

You have to use the positive parking light wire in the vehicle that activates using the switch on top of the steering column. If you use the negative wire that activates with the headlight switch the lights will only flash when the ignition is on.

Can you provide more info on how you wired the door locks?

These should be where you made your connections. The blue & green unlock & lock wires can connect directly to them (no need for a relay).

Power Lock red/white - BIU, gray 20 pin plug, pin 12
Notes: The BIU (Body Integrated Unit) is under the driver dash, to the left of the steering column.

Power Unlock yellow/red (all doors), orange/black (driver door) - BIU, gray 20 pin plug, pins 11 and 14

if you don't care about priority unlocking (driver door unlock on 1st press, others on 2nd press) then just connect the unlock to the yellow/red wire.

Based on the 2 diagrams that I cross referenced I wired the alarm H2(Green/Black) to the Subaru (Red/White) on the Keyless module, above fuse box. I Then Wired the alarm H2(Blue/Black) to the Subaru (Yellow/Red).

Unfortunately the Lock unlock Function still doesn't work. I was able to get the Parking lights to work though based on the fuse inside the unit. It had to be moved to the left 2 prongs looking at the unit right side up. I was also wondering if it is possible to rig the unit so that windows can be controlled with AUX buttons?

Update: I grounded the purple wires and now the doors lock with the remote. They do not unlock though.

Thanks for the help.

You need a window roll up module in order to control the windows. A DEI 529T will do just up on 2 windows and a 530T will do up & down for 2 windows. If you want all 4, you will need 2 modules.

As for the lock / unlock, did you ground the violet input wire? It sounds like you have one of the units with a built in door lock relays, so you need to ground the input since it is a negative door lock system.

Also, did you test the wires before you connected them? Are you certain they are the correct wires?

Yes I grounded the 2 violet input wires. That made it so that the alarm will lock the doors but it doesn't work on unlock. I didn't test the wires to make sure that they are the right ones but I read many posts and they are the same color everywhere.

update: upon trying to unlock it blew the 15A Fuse connected to both input cables (violet) that are grounded from the alarm. There is a problem in the connections but I cant figure out where.

NEVER just connect to a wire because someone says that's it. ALWAYS test before making any connections. It is a mistake that could cost you thousands of dollars (I've personally seen it happen). It sounds like you have the wrong wire and may have already damaged something. When you hit unlock, it triggers the internal relay that connects the violet (ground) wire to the blue/black unlock trigger. If the wire you are connected to is a 12 volt +, it will blow the fuse. Test your connections before even replacing the fuse. Hopefully you only blew the fuse and didn't fry the unit or something in the car...

I didnt fry anything I just blew a fuse. How would I check for the unlock wire??

Also Looking at the wiring Diagram from Subaru the Yellow/Red Wire on the integrated module is the Unlock, and the Red/White Wire is the Lock Wire.

Yes, but there can be multiple wires with the same color (not sure if that is the case here or not). You most likely didn't fry anything, but how can you be sure. It doesn't take much at all to fry a control module... a hell of a lot less than the 15 amps that the fuse is rated for. This is the exact reason that dealers recommend a professional installation.....

You will need a DMM (which I hope to god you have and used for the rest of the installation) to test the wire. Place the ground lead on the suspect wire and the positive lead on a known 12 volt source (battery, input to ignition, etc).

You should have a 3 pin harness on your viper alarm, blue/empty/green. Blue goes to yellow/red and green goes to red/white.

By the sounds of it, he has one of the units with the build in 451m relays. So he has the heavier duty outputs (not the small 3 pin)

Exactly. If you look at the Diagram that is in the link the alarm has an 8 pin harness (H2) devoted to the door locks. Which is the built in relay. I am trying to figure out how to wire in the unlock portion as the locking seems to be working.

update: I connected the Blue/Black Wire to the Driver door Black/orange wire on the keyless module and now both the lock and unlock work. Connecting the Black/Blue wire to the Orange Black wire works with the progressive unlock. With 2 unlock commands all doors will unlock.
