Combined that is 353ft lbs of torque. That is quite a pairing. How they configure that system will be very intriguing. Plus you get over 620 miles of range. The next step for the subaru engineers is the same system adopted for use with the 2.4 turbo engine.
you don't combine the power figures together for max output.

I agree, there some configuration to be done between the engine and the motor. Not just for expenditure of the battery pack, but also the right combination of fuel efficiency and power. That is why I also said they configure it will be intriguing. That is also why has not released the combined net yet

Why can’t they put the 2.4T in it and then offer that as a hybrid? So sick of these trash engine offerings.

We have no idea what engine will be offered.

While I would prefer the 2.4T, a hybrid's ability to assist means that a smaller engine can be used. Fuel efficiency is the primary goal, not fun.

Microsite launched. No real details: https://www.subaru.com/2025-subaru-forester-hybrid.html

It'll be "impressive" to the typical Forester buyer. I fully expect pages of hate on here.

I've been craving a good Subaru hybrid forever. Will this finally be the one?

What (used to) set the forester apart was it was light, agile, quick, and great visibility. When they deleted the XT they lost quick. I'm afraid the hybrid will also delete light and agile.

they lost light and agile a long time ago, too.

the 2005 Forester XT was lighter than the 2005 Legacy GT.
was a great small SUV that drove like a car ... until it started getting bigger and more bloated with each new revision.

I love the utility of these but hate the boringness of it. Really wish Subaru kept the turbo engine option and offered a performance pack with hood scoop, Brembos, etc.

the wife took her OBW into a new dealer for regular service.

there were signs of oil seepage near the trans oil pump. so they told my wife that the transmission oil pump is leaking and it is a critical repair and will cost $2800 to repair. they told us if we had gotten the extended warranty it would be covered.

I was confused because it's still within the 60k powertrain warranty, so I had her take it to the normal Subaru dealer, and they agreed, it is under warranty, and gave her a loaner to drive while they are inspecting it. we'll see how that story plays out.

anyway, how that's all relevant here is that the loaner is a new Forester. my 3 word review is below.

it is repulsive.

If one dealer determines to deny warranty coverage, wouldn’t another dealer see it was denied and also deny coverage?
Or is that not how it works?

Dealerships don't deny coverage, that is for Subaru, or their distributor. They probably tried to pull a fast one over his wife, and didn't submit it.

If the car is within the warranty period, and the issue wasn't caused by the owner (off roading, accident, etc), then it will be covered.

Gotcha, so they straight up lied about Subaru denying the coverage.
Wow

Well, that’s the only explanation. They must have lied. Because the other dealership said it was covered.

I DO use "negatives" to answer questions people ask me about what "bad" things to expect. I don't hide anything. Even the particular person here that thinks I try to whitewash things. I've used his examples of issues he's had with customers. Most people like their Subaru. With a complaint here or there. I have a good list of things I dislike and will "dread" not having when I get my Outback next year. I genuinely want to hear detractors. Especially when they are "repulsive" cause that is just off a different trail than the standard.

I am just saying we don't know what caused the damage. So, based on what we know it could be covered.

The front grille and rear tail light area are bad. The grille slats are overly complicated and the rear tail lights are stolen from a 2014 Outlander.

What’s there to elaborate? It’s a $40,000 N/A non-hybrid 180 hp generic crossover with a CVT that brings nothing to the table other than the overrated Subaru AWD system.

When I first saw the back at the Subaru meeting, of course I couldn't take a pic to find what I thought it was. Took me about a week to come across an Outlander and was like "There!!! There it is. I KNEW it looked like something".

If it's looks, that's fine. I do dislike that the front is really similar to one vehicle and the back to another. Overall, I like the clean look; but, really wish they could come up with a more unique design. Of course there will be design trends that all manufacturers share. But, the Forester does have "too much" in common. I LOVE the Outback; but, you'll see something similar happen with it outside of the current obviousness.

Nothing you care for. They are not trying to appease customers like you. It drives really well and is doing better than the competition in safety and the "overrated" AWD you keep complaining about continues to prove to be better than the competition. Over and over and over again. That must just climb into your crawl and wiggle around, doesn't it .

Oh, and the Hybrid will just enhance that.
