Question FXT To STi Suspension Swap Questions

Okay......... So I Received This STi Suspension And Am Curious As To What, If Anything, I Will Need To "Bolt This Into" Our 04 FXT.

Are The Top Hats The Same Front And Back As The FXT ?

Do I Just Bolt Them In As-Is, Align It And Go ?

Any Advice From The Gurus Would Be Helpfull .

Thanks !!!

Im not 100% certain, but you might need to swap the top hats.

Otherwise, its not a hard job at all, just make sure to have a big breaker bar for the bolts on the hub/strut

Hey SoyRacer,
My buddy with XT done same swap few month back.
It's plug and play. Just take your stock strut out and put STi one in.
Hope you enjoy them, and post up pic when your done.

Just bolt it up, it is the easiest swap going. I loved mine and I'm going to miss it.

There are no modifications required

be very careful on the front drivers side, unbolt the sway bar endlink or something.when i did mine, the suspension would not lower enough,i popped out my inner cv joint acouple of times and i tore my outer cv joint boot.what a greasy mess.the two bottom bolts on the front struts, make sure you mark the top ones before you remove anything.

I Really Appreciate Everyones Advice But I Think That I'm Going To Wait Till We Can Afford A New Set Of Wheels (17") To Compliment The Suspension, As Well As A Rear Sway Bar Upgrade.

How Is The Ride?

The FXT Ride Is Pretty Good At Absorbing Most Road Imperfections. What Is It Like WIth The STi Suspension?

Thanks Again !!

Um, be prepared for an entirely different car. I hated the stock FXT suspension; once the STi bits were installed, I could actually test the handling limits of the car. Don't bother waiting for wheels and tires, do the swap first and see what you think. Adding the rear bar makes less of a difference with the STi setup vs the stock mushy suspension. Once you get used to the suspension, get your wheels and tires and kick it up to a whole other level.
