This might be off-topic, it depends on the meaning of "complete WRX suspension swap".
My 97 GT wagon is mechanically wore out but the body still looks great. Is it feasible to swap the entire drivetrain and suspension from a '02 WRX donor onto this body?
What does feasible mean to me? No welding and less than 100 hours of labor.
Thanks

yeah you can, but not sure why. the 02 wrx has the weakest tranny of any subaru.... ever! as far as axles and stuff, might as well just get new legacy stuff.

The problem is I need everything - rebuilt engine, rebuilt tranny, bushings, bearings, ....
Is there a better donor car to give the old wagon another 5 years of fun?

so can i use the 02/03 wrx sedan suspension on my 98 ob wagon or would i be better off geting an 02/03 wrx wagon suspension for it. the only reason i ask is because i have the wrx sedan suspension from my buddies part out of his car with is an 02 wrx, and yes i know it says sedan to sedan and wagon to wagon but im just double checking. thank you

you can totally use the 02/03 sedan stuff. might even be able to get more camber in the rear, or maybe too much depending. the big thing is that the sedan springs are shorter in the rear so you'll get more of a saggy butt look, but some strut spacers like from primitive racing will help level it out and give you an even look. that's what i did on my forester when i lowered it on 2.5rs stuff.

The wrx suspension is a way better option than the legacy . It's a sports suspension as the legacy is not. I'll be picking up a set soon for my wagon along with saggy butt spacers.

best thing and cheapest. 2.5rs stock struts/springs. otherwise you can use any impreza suspension. you just need to swap out the front upper spring perches if you're gonna reuse your legacy parts.

not the best pic, but here's my 91 rallycrossing on stock 2.5rs suspension.

do the racelands come with camber plates? cause if they do, just throw them on. if they don't you'll need to reuse your stock rear strut tops.

oh its only the rears that are different? no racelands dont have camber plates in the rear
so ill just have to change the tophats on the rears then? sick!
i just didnt realize the subaru suspensions were so compatible
too bad i couldnt just use cx racing coils from the 02+ legacy cus they are only 650

there's a good chance those 02+ wrx rears will bolt up just fine. even though there are two styles of strut tops the bolt pattern is the same. but thats really only an issue when swapping springs.

Didnt see this question in here anywhere but is there a difference with 95-96 legacys compared to 97-99 as far as suspension wise and using components from a wrx? Im hopefully picking up this 95 wagon tomorrow and just want to know what route Ill have to go to drop it. Thanks!
