that really wasn't that far off
the ecus are very different 07 has an immobilizer 07 has the air pump heads are differnt short block is slightly differnt really not a great idea ... are you replacing a motor? did it blowup? a 04-06 sti, 04-05 fxt, 04-06 baja, or 05-06 lgt long block would be a direct swap |

Basicly. Ring landing gone. I was thinking about just paying off the 04 early, getting the 07 and dropping the motor of the 07 into the 04. Then getting the Cosworth longblock they have out and putting that in the 07.

long block-no zero chance of plug n play...
short block- yes nothing like throwing $45k at a $2500 proublem oh and the cosworth long block won't work in the 07 |

I recently swapped out my EJ20 from my 2003 WRX to a EJ25 from a 2007 WRX. Bought a complete longblock and swapped what i could over and swapped over the cam position sensor. Starts up and everything, only problem i'm having is the car won't go into gear....
if anyone could help me with that it would be greatly appreciated... |

What about a 2007 wrx engine into a 2004 wrx?
What problems would I face by putting a 2007 engine in a 2004 wrx?
