WRX Exhaust on the 92 Turbo Leg
Wow it's hard to believe how quiet this car is now -- the exhaust is completely inaudible at cruise but still sounds nice at full throttle. The buyer is going to be very happy. That 3" turbo back with dynomax muff. was LOUD, even at cruise.

Did you have the exhaust shop do all the modifications to the WRX exhaust (i.e. the hanger swaps and the lengthening required to fit it to the BC/BF Legacy Turbo)? How much did the shop charge you for that setup? Did you get a new O2 bung welded in, or just use the WRX's post-cat bung (or did you only use the catback)?
I need to upgrade the exhaust on the Legacy, but I want to keep it quiet in the process. Of course, lately it's been "upgrading itself" as it's started getting progressively louder as the condition of the exhaust system worsens... Shane |

You still owe me a stock exhaust because of this!

I had the shop do the mods -- the front and middle section fit perfectly. The brackets on the tranny even match!
The shop moved the first hanger (on the midpipe) back about 2" and down about 1/2" They added about 4-1/2" to the straight part of the rear section directly under the axle. They cut off the hanger directly behind the axle then welded the cut part back on in a way that works. They cut off the drivers side rear hanger and rotated it around then welded it back on. The pass. side rear hanger fits perfectly without modification. I'm using the O2 bung that's on the rear cat. This is probably not ideal but the car works and there's no black clouds so I'm not too worried. It was sort of expensive -- $55 after the club discount. --Kevin H. |

I have some parts now, but not an entire exhaust. You don't remember how reluctantly I gave those to you?

Biggly, you're on crack!
(that's what Kevin says, but this is Steven hijacking his username) Hey, I hear newscooby has a full stock exhaust he's not doing anything with, hint, hint. |
