what car brand was this dealer? I'm reasonably confident they sell cars not made in the US, especially if it's a domestic brand.

Never let facts get in the way of desperate jingoism, especially in such a intellectually rigorous and morally scrupulous profession such as car sales

My 99' Suburban was made in Mexico and my 03' Yukon XL was made in Canada.
US Jobs indeed. That's $90,000 (between the two) that paid for foreign labor. Oh, and they were both colossal pieces of crap. I mean, the paint on the dashboard flaked off in 2 years...on BOTH $45,000 trucks. Plus dead transmissions, rear ends, transfer cases, head gaskets... My WRX wagon in 5 years has broken once, at 98,000 miles, and it cost $35 and 20 minutes to fix. |

forgive me good sir, as a former employee of a trade association on Capitol Hill that represents the import auto industry, these tactics are to be expected.

The dealerships are a good reason why GM is having problems. Hence why there will be 50% fewer of them in a few years.

That's not as bad as claiming its unpatriotic to not want to pay higher taxes.

Toyota:
- Sienna (Indiana) - Sequoia (Indiana) - Tundra (Texas) - Camry (Kentucky) - Avalon (Kentucky) - Solara (Kentucky) - Venza (Kentucky... also designed at Toyota's design center in MI) - Corolla (California) - Tacoma (California) - Prius (Mississippi ETA 2010) - Highlander (Indiana ETA 2009) If you included Canada... - RX350 (Cambridge) - Corolla (Cambridge) - Matrix (Cambridge) - Rav4 (Woodstock) There might be more that I'm missing. I know a large portion of Honda's line is built in the US, while a decent number of Nissan's models are built here as well. ~~Quentin |

Here ya go....
www.goseeoc.com Phone numbers are at the top of their web page. For those in the area, I've heard this commercial aired at least four times today listening to 98.7FM (yeah...I'm listening to their Christmas music.....I suck.) |

I think this line sums it up: "Our government needs to have a program to get all the junky cars off the road and get all of these junky cars out of peoples yards" since when did the beater on cinder blocks in the yard become a viable trade in? Good lord, The only domestic car Ive ever owned was a 00 Jeep Cherokee. Mediocre at best, even with reg maint. Too much **** went wrong that shouldnt have. IE no oil pressure at idle resulting in essentially the bottom half of the motor having to be replaced. EDIT: I dont think I could ever buy a car from a dealer who used the word junky. Honestly, Im surprised it's actually a real word. |
