You're right it is
I actually got a couple hours tonight to focus on my car and tune. I had been primarily dealing with other aspects of the car: brakes, driveline, weight reduction, etc. The chassis needed some serious freshening. Anyway, I'm going to start a post in the PPB section for the tuning of this. Short story: I need to swap out pills to make the boost control less sensitive, but it ran ~25psi tonight, out to redline. Fueling is ~11.5-11.8 gas eqv, and timing is very low, ~10* at MBT and ~16* at redline. I'm sure I can add 5* or more, no problem. Just need a few more hours to seek out the edges on this one... Roughly 365whp, 365wtq.

The result was at the drag strip, I ran the same et (12.6) as I did on my VF43 4.444 5 spd setup. With a 2.5L, this was a solid 11's car. I sold this car in the fall to a guy locally, and best I know, its still running great. I ran up to 30 psi on track. It was a fantastic road course setup. I dialed it back before I sold it so the buyer didn't blow it up immediately. I was shocked at how healthy the engine was after 170k+ miles and the sort of abuse I put it through. Near perfect compression (150±5 psi) and leak down was great (4-8%). Just needed more stroke... I've moved on to a swapped GC. Going the lightweight route, seeing what I can do with a TD04 to start with. More to come for sure, just on a slightly different platform and approach. |

Glad to hear you're still with us. I'm even happier your going to work your magic on a gc!!! I'd like to see you get crazy with a 2.5, high compression, smallish turbo in something like that!
So would you recommend that turbo for other 2.0 users or is it just too big for street use? |

I expect I'll be experimenting with a number of power options, with the biggest I expect to go is with a 2.5L with a EFR 6258. I intend to stay with a 5 speed setup on my GC, but who knows really what the future might hold... |

How big is this turbo, say compared to a gtx3076 with a .63 hotside? Sorry if mention before didn't read the whole thread. It seems like the spool is faster but not as high peak numbers.

You should have kept the turbo and slapped on something else before you sold it lol |

I strongly considered it, but the fella that bought it said "don't change a thing, I want it just the way it is." I couldn't argue with that...
