For a 2009 WRX running DS, what's the lightest cat-back available? Anyone know what the stock exhaust weighs for comparison?

The lightest cat-back is a resonator and a turn-down right after the driver.

What if it's a daily driver that has to be street legal?

I think he means CBE systems as a whole. I will say I don't know, but for the most part there can't be that much difference in the after market stuff to matter on a DS car. But I would be interested to hear.

Well, for stock class car, he already has a turbo and 2 cats doing some muffling. Add a resonator and just enough to get back past the driver. Should be legal in both, SCCA terms, and noise law terms. It is also without question, the lightest path (and the cheapest too).

If he really does mean to limit to full CBE systems, how much ya got? Titanium ain't cheap.

You'd want to look at one of the offerings that dump the standard sideways muffler config and go with a much smaller angled can like the Invidia N1 exhuasts to save some weight, beyond going Ti. They'll obviously be louder as well. I weighed the stocker to be about 39 lbs or so, so there's definately some weight to be saved IMO. I have the SPT myself which is no lighter than the stocker, but the quietest. Additionally, mine recently cracked on the muffler side all the way around near the mounting flange after 14K on it, so I don't recommend it for any reason. It did give me the change to hear it mufflerless, and I can say it was pretty loud, but not obnoxious.
