I once trusted a friend to do my exhaust, he ended up deleting my resonator and one of my cats. Someone told me "your car sounds like it's going through puberty" haha it did. I quickly got a new resonator put in.

Incorrect. It is called an H4 because it resembles an H. Which means it's not a V anything at all.

I meant it's sometimes called H4, flat 4, or boxer. H because it resembles an H, flat 4 because the pistons are horizontally opposed and boxer because the pistons kind of punch at each other

okay, what does a 180* V look like? __ is it the proper name for it? no, but for someone who doesn't understand the concept of a flat 4 engine, it is a sufficient explaination.

Well there is really no V4 in the car world (that I am aware of at least) so it is either an inline 4, slant 4 or flat 4. People just think everything is V and a V is better like many of people think their V6 can take anSTI with a flat 4 just because it has 6 cylinders

Awhile ago I was parked at a store and a hummer pulls up. An older gentleman hops out pauses, does a double take at my brakes and says, "why'd you change em'" I reply change what? "the brakes", he says. "I say they are stock looking at his considerably smaller calipers on his hummer.

I'm aware of what the engine is called, and that also helps prove my point that it isn't a V anything.

So you tell them it's a 180* V4?

He might have meant I4. Since just about every car has a V6 or V8 option. Its a common mistake to say V4. One of my friends said that to me and I just gave them a confused look

And no exhaust leaks either! I I've heard that sound since day one!

Which makes you think...why isn't there a V4?

Probably because most I4's are FWD so it's a packaging/space thing. Don't some motorcycles have a v4? Not sure about that but I could have sworn I heard of one.

two kids walking up to a flash-ass red evo across the aisle in the lot as i'm getting out of my car and walking toward the hardware store. i avoid eye contact hoping to keep from conversation and confrontation.

and then i hear "ey is that subaru fast?"
without slowing down i reply by giving the 'kinda' wavy hand signal, which is exactly what i would do if it had 900whp, didn't run, or anywhere in between.

same kid goes "oh. that means no." and at this point i've given up avoiding confrontation. i stop and turn half way and say, in the most bored-sounding tone i could muster "... faster than your fuh-ckin' evo." which isn't even close to true, but i knew it would get a rise out of the little ****. but it doesn't end there.

my comment was almost instantly met with a challenge to race. i resumed my path to the store as i told him "i'm actually working right now so i can't, but even if i wasn't on company time i'd rather go in and get the wires i need than prove myself to a couple of strangers who i'll never speak to again because they wouldn't dare approach me again after the race" again, just to get a rise out of the little ****.

i think he yelled something like he would be looking for me on the road and we could race then [as though he totally missed that i said i didn't want to race him even if i was on my own time] but i'm not positive because by this point i was almost inside.

i'm pretty sure he was all burned up 'cause he couldn't get through to me. i can just imagine him driving fast trying to lick his wounds and to remind his friend how hard-core he is.
