I drove 6 hours ONE WAY just to visit their shop with no intention of buying. If you call them, I will ban you. Drive. Visit. See. Touch. Talk. Lick. All the turbos.

Lol, was that on the moon dyno?
Op, the vf39/48 are going to produce similar numbers as they are basically the same turbo, the 48 doesn't have the issues with cracking the the 39 does though.

The 16g is going to be a better turbo than either of those. It will provide a broader powerband (aka, won't fall on it's face at redline) and flows a bit more than the any vf turbo.
The 16g is rated at 35lbs/min (
350chp). Other variations of the 16g (xt, xtr) are going to flow more (38-41lbs/min) and provide better aerodynamics/ and either journal bearing or ball bearing chra's. The ball bearing chra is going to provide better spool and better transient response.

Call/check out Blouch. They have great turbos and are very knowledgable.

2 different dynos, 2 different facilities...350 WHP is obtainable with a VF39/43/48 with E85 and the right mods...

Lol, I whole heartedly agree with you in the fact that there is more than one dyno that will show inflated numbers. Your not making that power, the turbo can't flow that much, and your trap speeds indicate the same. Physics is still a law my friend.

on a 2.5l thats still a stretch.

theres someone local to me, who has nut-swingers all over this forum, try to tell me she made 348whp on a vf39, on the 2.0l. THAT, is physically impossible.

My trap speeds was when I was stage 2 with the vf39 on pump gas and I cant drive the car like a boss but you would rather just hate then read the threads entirely I'm not gonna hi-jack the OPs thread any longer debating what you think.

OP good luck with selecting the Turbo for your needs

The car was tuned by M@ though... Although I am a bit skeptical that it made that kinda HP, its not a USDM 2.0.

I'm not defending or bashing, but I'm putting down right near 300 with my 43'd 2.5L. All it really takes is some skilled manipulation of the tune.

Your right, I thought you posted 110mph trap speed, I was wrong, you did just over a 100mph on a stage 2 setup. 110mph trap is good for 300whp. So, by all means, prove me wrong. Go 115+ in the trap.

What I do really hate is people coming into threads like these with inflated numbers telling them they should expect the same. No, no person should expect that from a vf39. Just like the shop that said his vf52 tune broke 400whp (nope) and the kind in FL that broke 400whp with a 16g (on pump gas!!). There has been a growing trend on here of inflated numbers. Why? Because some shops jack their correction factor up, then idiot kids take the numbers as gospel and expect every dyno to show that high of numbers. Which makes other shops jack their cf up in order to compete.

Trap speed is the only way to compare actual power numbers. Unless you can't shift, it basically takes the driver out of the equation as well (no launch worries, reaction time, etc). It's not perfect, but its better than straight dyno numbers.

The other way to compare is to ho stock run to modified run and see the difference. Case in point, on the dyno dynamics I was on no one broke 300whp on E85. Stock STIs put down about 200whp, which is a 100whp over stock with all the goodies. That has been backed up by numerous other dynos. Your claiming a 150+whp gain on a vf39. That is complete and utter bs.

As for the 2.0 to 2.5 comparison, peak power is going to be almost exactly the same. Prolly within 10whp of each other. Now, the tq numbers are going to be quite different (since tq is basically spool) and the dyno graph is going to move to the right on the 2.0, but peak power will be extremely close.
