JC Sports sells an IHI ballbearing turbo kit for $3,899 that will push 5-7 psi easily and give you the 250hp you want. You'll need a boost controller or a tight wategate with ignition timing control and S-AFC to go higher safely.

I have one on my 2000 RS, and DaveK has one on his 1999. I rode in his MY99 RS with NO electronics, just a Vortech FMU fuel pressure riser and hi-flow fuel pump, and it rocks vs stock, with the wastegate set at only 4 psi! I was amazed, as it takes 5 psi for my MY00 turbo with the same kit plus extra injectots to feel as fast as his.

ASR, rallispec and ludespeed have similar turbo kits, and you can search the links section of www.ImprezaRS.com to find them.

How in the world can you recommend JC Sports? They are the worst company to do business with around. There are quite a few people STILL waiting for the turbo kits they ordered months ago. And you are not supposed to be even mentioning them, if I recall. Someone else is going to get screwed now!

Oy vey! Let the people do a search and make up their own minds. There's already enough opinions on record about this topic to bore even Garrison Keillor to tears (and that's hard to do! ) No sense in being repetetively redundant twice now, is there?

Larry, your a superstar and a smart man, but I'm with Short on this one.... How can you push JC Sports when they STILL haven't delivered all the kits in their GB?

I still respect you though....

Go for a <A href="http://www.forcedairtech.com" target="new">Forced Air Tech</a> kit like AaronB and I have done.

One, I mentioned what my personal kit would cost and how it performs, which will provide the level of performance he wanted - relating my personal experience with it.

Two, I also recommended several other vendors. Even though I have no experience with them, I wanted to be objective and un-biased. I posted a similar tidbit in another post to someone else, and listed several other makers of turbo kits.

For the record, JC Sports often takes the same 3-6 months to deliver a turbo kit that other vendors will quote you, but the have been known to promise delivery of the kits much faster than they can deliver. Eventually everyone get's their kit and JCS don't take money and keep it without delivering a product. See the 27 page "turbo gb closed" post by JC Sports in the vendor section for more info.

There - was that more objective
