They are. They went back to the original Cherry Blossom Red that was on 07 or older STi vs more red version they switched to in 08

I've driven several EPS cars (including my '17 WRX) and many HPS cars (including a stock '18 STi). I think the WRX has some of the best steering I've felt in terms of accuracy and feel.
Electric steering is not bad at all (minus Nissan's DAS system). It's something to get use to at first, but once you're familiar with it chances are you will like WRX's EPS.

Hydraulic is cool for old school guys like me. It definitely has a more raw steering feedback, if you're into that. Cool does not necessarily mean it is better, however cool can mean more fun.

Odd that it's going to take that long. Took about a month and a half for mine to go from order submitted to delivered to the dealership.

Why did you order the CVT?

No one is at first. Practice is all that's needed. But you've ordered the vehicle, so that ship has sailed.

You'll enjoy it either way, just not as much as if it was stick shift . (Yes, I am incredibly biased against non-MT transmissions)

WRX CVT in Limited trim is an unusual car according to my dealer, very familiar are allocated and if you want the fully optioned car in a particular color you have to factory order. Takes 60-90 days. Often they beat their stated earliest date by a week or more.

The dealer has far more visibility than you do. My dealer could tell me when it got put on a truck for delivery 2-3 days later, about 10 days in advance of the earliest date Subaru had quoted

Good luck. I think you will love the CVT for every day driving. The CVT is well matched to the engine and the Sport and Sport# modes are pretty entertaining. At least for my area the CVT has plenty of reserve. I have never had to use more than 50% throttle in every day driving even getting up to speed on highways. You are at extralegal speeds before you know it and the police around here know it too.

I know I will get a lot of flak for this but the WRX transmission is just not as good as the Honda six speeds I have been used to

And Maybe that is the key I needed more than a test drive to get used to the Subie tranny

I don't anticipate tracking the car except for something like the BMW school highway driving courses where you get to explore the car in a controlled manner. For me, the CVT is a great compromise for daily commuting.

People have different needs. I can’t stand AT cars even for the commute. If AT was okay and sedan, I would’ve gotten a IS350F-Sport or S3 but that is just me.

It's not just you.

No cvt, IMO, is well matched to a sports car. It's a compromise at best.

For pure racing, a strong dsg is the best split between a sequential racing transmission and something beat suited to daily driving.

But nothing beats a MT for pure driver engagement.

Default What I paid for my 19 STI base

Just bought my first Subaru yesterday. Decided on a 19 Dark
Gray STI base with short throw shifter, rear bumper aplaque, all weather mats and trunk liner, carpeted mats, home link w/dimming mirror and LED lights. I offered $500 below invoice for the car a week ago when it was still in transit which they agreed to, and dealer over-allowed $1800 more for my trade than another Subaru dealer. For all the new extras including upgraded pistons, exhaust, intake, tune android auto, etc, I am glad I went with the 19 over a limited 18 STI the other dealer was trying to sell for almost $6000 off MSRP. Android auto is awesome and replaced the need for Nav for the limited. Sunroofs eventually leak especially here in Florida, and the stock sound system oddly enough sounds much better than a friend's base STI I remember sounded terrible. And even after the 18 STI Limited discount of almost $6000, the 19 had a cheaper payment of $37/month comparatively. Love the car and glad I unknowingly held out for the 1.9% interest promo that just dropped for December all because I wanted to wait for a Grey one they had in transit that carried over into December. The only thing that sucks is keeping it under 4k RPM until the 1,000 mile mark...

1.9 was for the 2018 models. It was 3.49 for the 2019s.

Got a 1.9%. On a factory order. For my 19 STi limited. In October. Through the dealership. Not 3.5%.

Maybe that was for the STIs and not the WRXs?

I just looked on the website. New 1.9% on all new 2019 WRX! I had to pay 3.49% in August.

I suppose Subaru is trying to wake up WRX sales which are down 9.1% year to date from last year and down 12.0% when compared to November last year.

I picked mine up in November. I should have waited. Oh well. Not that big of a deal, really.

Default The 2019 WRX/STI Orders and Waiting Thread

Picked up my series gray STi on Friday. They asked 42.3 got it for 40.5k @ 1.9%. Has a handful of options such as the popular package 3, STi short throw shifter, carbon fiber trunk trim, and the center arm rest. They even let me swap out my STi shift knob from my 2016 wrx in place of the normal red one that was in the series gray.
