Very nice! Crap, I only did 420whp at 22PSI on a HE351CW.... I don't see that extra 5PSI giving me an extra 158whp. That BEP drop in wheel and hot side are doing work!

I was very impressed also for a junkyard turbo that I cleaned up lol. We could have pushed the car more but did not want to chance anything with the ARP2000 rodbolts and semiclosed deck. The 93oc and e85 was done at 17deg base timing also. I was tempted to just tell him to keep making power but the adult in me told me to chill and just drive the car and have fun. Im extremely happy that it made those numbers on 27psi also.

Great setup... Did they fab that up-pipe in frame? Wonder if they made a jig? I spent days getting the 351 to fit and Im still not in love with it.

What are you doing for an oil drain back? I fought with crappy hose forever, now I tap the head, and weld up CSST with fittings. Working around the angles between the CHRA and compressor/turbine have been challenging.

It was fabbed up on a jig. Evan Carpenter started making rotated kits and headers a couple years ago when he was just starting off with fabbing through a group on facebook. He has since went professional and this is the website to check some of his work out. http://www.bnmperformancefab.com/. His work is top notch. I believe he uses full front clips of cars for fabbing also. Its also schedule 10 stainless.

It has a -10an drain off the bottom the turbo to a quick connect into the factory drain.

By any chance did you do any testing with the factory wheel? I ask because I have a 7blade hx40 wheel on an hx35 and Iím trying to determine if it under performs at lower boost because because I have some hidden problem or just because the wheel wonít flow. I plotted it in the compressor map and where Iím running it it doesnít look at bad. Just left of the main efficiency island.

No sorry. I made the jump due to the results I saw on my fathers 7.3 powerstroke with a BEP drop in wheel. I know thats comparing apples to oranges but I figured it couldn't hurt. I know some DSM guys actually see less target boost with a drop in wheel but substantially lower EGTs. There is not a lot of information out there for holset subarus so I was rolling the dice for results. BEP advertises 10lb/min increase in flow over the stock wheel.

Wicked Wheel2 is another option for an impeller wheel drop in. I have heard good opinions on that one as well in the diesel world.

What hot side are your running? Have you smoke tested your system for boost leaks?

Have been considering the wicked wheel 2. Substantially lighter than my cast wheel. Been talking to diesel people and no one seems to have any good data on an hx 40.
Did leak test. Injector 4 leaked at 30psi of air pressure. Got a second set of orings in there as per Iagís advice as I have their rails. Couldnít get them to deal with second oring. Called id, they said they should leak unless I have fuel pressure behind the injector. Took out second o ring. I got a custom t3 in, vband out .63 hotside that I swaintechíd. That bep wheel is interesting but thatís some $$$ for a wheel. Iíve seen where an improved setup will run less boost but equal or more power. Boost can be considered a measure of restriction. Kinda thing that sets my brain on fire.
