Hunting for Idle? Flats Spots in Torque Curve?
99 RS
Coming back from the Tri State meet today, I noticed the same old 3500 RPM hesitation... Figured I ll reset the ECU when I get home, and I should be good for a few weeks or so.. Not today. Car would shut off on me (when coming back down from a high RPM, such as at a red light, big flat spots on the torque curve too when driving (Bigger then usual hesitation). I did the MAF recall two months ago, when I got back to my garage, checked for vac leaks in the intake. I have cold air custom intake BTW (I have a vac gauge installed on the car too, and it has never gone below 20 in over at idle..so its OK) Idle- goes nuts when radiator fan is on and car is idling!..its OK when fan isnt on (checked volts, no drop in voltage either, I have a volt gauge on the car as well, steady 13-14 volts. Even with AC/lights/Stereo system blasting...no drop in idle or voltage, the car wigs when the radiator fan goes on. Doesnt wig any less or more with all the accessories on,+the radiator fan comes on. It hunts for an idle just the same. In addtion, Ive done the grounding mod. and I get no CEL? Any ideas?
