oh and pay attention, the wrx doesn't have a CVT, it has an SPT. ![]() But you're right, I think subaru claims 6.0s for the automatic wrx... 7.4 seconds 0-100km would be pathetic, that's what my nissan leaf does. ![]() |

![]() Regardless, what is subaru doing when the top trim WRX goes 0-60 in just 0.1 second faster than a Legacy?

![]() It's definitely better, also helped by being lowered and sitting on Volks.
I want to like this model, I really do, but visual issues aside it's still sitting in the 270hp range, has the higher trim options (Recaros, adaptive suspension, etc) locked behind a CVT, and there's not an STI on the horizon. I just don't see myself getting one unless something changes. |

![]() I just came across a MT article that had the Outback that is nearly 4,000 lbs run 0-60 in 6.1 seconds...MT isn't known for getting the quickest times in their tests too.

![]() Given the ascent and legacy 0-60s, The number for auto WRX seems off from that video. I will wait for more testing to come out.

![]() Driving from Massachusetts to North Carolina as of yesterday, I've seen two 2022 WRX. At a glance, just driving on the road, they don't look too bad. One was WRB and the other was dark gray.

![]() I feel sorry for anyone who keeps this 2022 WRX for any length of time and has to deal with faded plastic as time goes on. Yikes.

![]() Yeap, no issue with the cladding whatsoever. You just need to maintain it once in a while. Saved me from a ton of parking lot dings and scratches on my prior ride.

easily fixed with sandpaper and a small bottle of touch-up plastic if it does. ![]() my wife's little SUV has textured plastic side skirts. they're scratched, and there's nothing i can do about it. could be fixed easily if they were painted ... |

![]() Paint has layers and it's much easier to fix it up before it gets to bare metal.
Plastic cladding is just what it is. Material loss can't be restored. |

![]() A full set of new cladding is around $400, thats roughly the cost of a fender from the dealer or half the cost of painting a fender (decently). Id much rather replace the cladding than paint a fender.

![]() The one argument for the plastic cladding is any chips and scratches to metal can lead to rust if not attended to in a timely matter.
The argument against for the plastic cladding is the fading, and chips and scratches are permanent, unless replaced. The compromise is painting the plastic so touchups can be made or lighter scratches can be buffed out. The full effect is to make full plastic panels that won't rust but that might lead to the effect of old Saturns where they don't dent, they shatter. So are you saying there should be a WRX Woodie? Forget vinyl wraps, just sand and paint/re-stain. There are plenty of wood paints and stains that offer 10+ years of fade free warranty. |
