Updated the first posts. Added MHI and IHI info. Some of this may not be perfect, because it can be hard to find, but it is hopefully good enough to use as a point of reference when comparing to the larger offerings out there. I also added a column for whether or not the turbo is offered in a stock location Subaru mount.

As you all may know the EFR exducer dimensions are not published anywhere that I can find. I inquired with Full Race but they could not supply them. So I've added the calculated EFR exducer dimensions based on the known turbine inducer dimensions and known trim. I listed them with a comment and I added them to xluben's latest spread sheet. So that he could update those EFR exd. cells in the chart. Borg Warner is keeping this turbine wheel info close to their chest, so to speak. They do say that the 55, 58, 64 and 70mm wheels are all of the same design but just different sizes. On those four wheels the listed trims are 88-89%. I rounded them off at 88.5% to average it. The 74mm wheel is 87% and the 80mm wheel is 92%. So I am qualifying these dimensions as close/ calculated but not exact! Last edited by manitou; 10-21-2013 at 05:38 PM. |

I'm pretty sure on the Dom 5.0XT-R specs. I did not measure the wheels myself but I did get them straight from Mike Malin at Blouch. The turbine wheel is a Garrett GT35r and the compressor wheel is unique to Blouch.

I have what I believe is a BW 8070 its larger than my 7670 with the same exhaust wheel I need to call Raffi at full race and see what we can come up with as a size before I post info on it though

Thanks guys for the work you put into this. It really helps when it comes time to chose a turbo to know what the specs are for the turbo you're looking at in comparison to the turbo you have. Great job and thanks again.

I would assume the HTA68 is similar to the HTA71, but with a 68mm compressor exducer instead of 71mm. I don't know all the specs for sure though. Since it's not current it is not as easy to find. Maybe manitou would be able to figure it out. |

Quite a few of my tuner friends have been kind of down on the HTA68's performance. I saw a few dyno graphs from them when they were getting some press and they did not impress. I think that it was an ok turbo on 92-93 pump gas and it woke up a bit more on E85. I don't know much about them but I think they worked well on the DSM's and Evo's but did not produce on our Subaru's. I guess that's why they revised it into the HTA71.
Why not just run an 18gxt or a 20gxt/ xtr? What kind of power have you made with your HTA68 Dave D.? |

Those seem like pretty optimistic dyno numbers for pump gas. That's more like what I'd expect from that turbo on E85. My brother is running the 68HTA on his Bugeye (hybrid motor, 6MT, etc). It's a pretty peppy car with good amount of torque. Once I get my Bugeye back up it will be an interesting comparison (I will be on some type of 20G variant).
As for the specs I think the only one that can answer that is FP. If anyone wants to get the info from them I would be happy to add it to the list. If I had to guess I would think it's a somewhat watered down 20G in hopes of increasing spool. Most I've seen make power somewhere between a VF and a normal 20G. |

Yes, all in 4th. It's right in the powerband and shifting only slows me down. I video'd some with a 4-5 shift and the best I could do was 6.6. That cargo box really pulls me down with even a fraction of a second off throttle. Almost feels like I have the brakes on. I guess it is an "air brake."

That's pretty good and short gearing to do the 50-100 pull in 4th. It's funny with my long ratio gearing and tall tires I do the 50-100 in 3rd gear. My third gear goes out to 110 at a bit over 8k.
You should take that box off and do a pull! |
