6 Speed Swap Rattle After Trans Rebuild
Issue: I've got a rattle coming from the transmission bell housing with the clutch released in neutral. This rattle goes away with the clutch engaged.
Background: I've got a LGT w/ 6 speed swap. The swap was installed w/ a clutch masters FX100 6 speed clutch and run for 1500 miles until the center diff ate itself. There was no rattle up to this point. The transmission was professionally rebuilt. During removal, the clutch masters throw out bearing was damaged and I replaced it with a brand new Subaru part. The transmission was reinstalled and now the rattle is present in neutral any time the clutch pedal is 50%+ released. With the clutch pedal fully depressed there is no rattle. Based on this I assume it is a throw out bearing rattle; I've heard about this being a not-uncommon Subaru issue, but haven't seen how people fixed the issue. Thoughts or suggestions?
