STI wide fenders for 08' WRX hatchback?
just wondering if anyone has done the wide fenders conversion for 08' WRX?
there's lots of bodykits available for the 08' WRX STI from what I've seen from Tokyo Auto Salon 08, yet there's not much available for the 08 WRX.. is this conversion really straight forward or is it tougher than it appears to be? thanks

I'm not sure if anyone knows, but I'd go with the Zero/Sports kit for the STi myself and just buy the SYMS front fenders. You could have some custom work done to the rears.

i think it would be a lot of work.. new bumpers, fenders, quarter panels. how about those bolt on fender flares? how would they look?

The front end is just bolt on, the quarters are a different story.

Kind of surprising that they made such drastic changes btwn the 08 wrx and sti. I always thought that one of the cool things about these cars were the interchangeability of the exterior parts. Not so much the case anymore.

Ya... I would deff. call that more than $1,500 in 4 Years. IIRC the 04's went for just under $33k...
I supose it could be worse... Then again they still have very similar features (as far as Manufacuring cost go). |

whoa... way wrong.
The WRX is a steal for what you get. show me a comparable car for less? full time AWD, turbo charged, 4 door, reliable.... for less than $24 new? I dont think so. Sti however, I think up until now, it's been too cheap. too easy to afford, cheapens the brand.... but hey... maybe that's just me back on topic front fenders should be easy to swap but you will also may need to swap in the front bumper as the front bumper is STi specific as well the rear flares will likely need to be grafted in.... nothing bolt on there from what I see when all is $aid and done, you could have bought an STi for what that swap would cost. I've heard accolade is working on a bolt-on widebody kit similar to what they did in 07

I did the STI front on on my 08 wrx hatch along with STI side skirts. It looked great and didn't look out of place. Front A-Arms were swapped for wider track and I remember doing something on the rear. If you need further inspiration have yourself a look at a 2010 mazda 3. They use similar wide front fenders with narrow rear. Looks alright.
