Yeah, living in the hill sides near Fredneck had my butt puckered at the attempt to get into work with the '15 WRX. Handles great, but the 'Sport'max no seasons on the car need to go. I need to be able to turn at 8-10 mph without the tires breaking loose in snow... Let alone brake.

So long as it's on purpose.

Not even a flurry here in Fredericksburg. Kind of disappointed.

But today I only drove my car so far. Will be ordering front lip and scheduling a tint appointment this afternoon, though

The summer tires aren't horrible. Driving on them (or any summer tire) in the winter or in the snow is just stupid.

I should have elaborated, those summer tires or any for that matter are horrible in this kind of weather. A lot of people think it will be fine with the AWD and it is not. I made the mistake once in my younger years going out with summers tires on in the snow. I chalk it up to ignorance and my youth thinking I was invincible.

Subaru Stars Clutch... Day 4

I spent the 4th day on the floor pulling the 97 Impreza apart. Replaced the timing belt, tensioner, etc. The SOHC 2.2L is way easy. 3 timing marks and no springing out of position, at least for me.

Finally sheared and broke enough rusted things to get to the transmission (including breaking a breaker bar...) to get it dropped. Not nearly as many bolts holding it on as I would have expected. Next weekend I'll actually get the clutch swapped out and hopefully get the transmission back in place. Based on taking it out, putting it back should be the hardest thing I've done to a car so far. Then it's time to put back the drive shaft, exhaust, replace the rusted out knuckles with some decent junkyard assy's I picked up.

Mostly I'm just pissed cuz I had the Scooby on blocks during the snow, so I ended up drifting the whole way to work in my wife's Miata on crumby all-seasons. It was unnerving.

Installed RCE yellows on my 2015 WRX today. They are a huge improvement on a car that already handles very well. The car feels much more planted and I feel like there is definitely reduced understeer. This is with winter tires too, which had really taken away from the cars handling. Will post pics tomorrow.
