I agree, headsets also I've been getting for work are rarely USB-C either. I'm guessing if it won't need to carry anything other than a low voltage charge, it's just cheaper to use older connections. Maybe weight, too?

I've got so many devices with different plugs I've switched to using cords that have combo USB-C, Lightning, and Micro-USB. I still use Mini-USB also, but no combo cords. Bought several of the combos and just have them all over the house/car/work.

Yup, same boat. I'm hoping I can order a specific EVGA 3070 or 3080 around the start of the summer.

One of the fans in my couple year old pre-built started getting noisy, so I picked up a new set of Corsairs. Fans are in, but the stupid PSU isn't modular and doesn't have a free SATA for the fan hub. Now I've got the old one ripped out and picking up a new Corsair Rm850x tomorrow. I wanted to replace it anyway to clean up the wiring since the old one has white sheathing/blue connectors, and wasn't really set up for the two 8 pin plugs on my 3070.

The only surprising thing here is that it took them this long to realize that they had already closed. They've been dead long before the pandemic.

Yep, I had searched their website from time to time and it was a total POS with nothing ever in stock. It's been years since I have been to an actual Fry's but they did help me build my first gaming PC.

I was going to say that I'd head down to the one south of Portland this weekend to see what they were blowing out, but if memory serves they never had anything in stock anyway.

RIP Frys - it was basically the worst of MicroCenter and Best Buy under one roof, but with a food court and tons of anime porn.

I remember the Fry's down near Camp Pendleton being in a sad state, and I haven't been back to California in 15 years. Surprised it took this long.
