Question Whose installed a toggle switch for thier ABS?

Which fuse line did you tap into? The 30 amp under the hood fuse listed as "ABS motor" or the in-dash 20 amp "ABS solenoid" fuse? I plan on using the 20 amp ABS solenid fuse because I only have a switch rated for 25 amps at 12 volts

I'm also adding a hidden toggle switch connected to the ignition fuse as an anti-theft device. Even if someone breaks into my car and breaches the steering column they won't be able to start the car until they find the hidden toggle switch.

Tap into the one under the dash- not the one that's easily accessible at the front of the fuse panel, bit the one off to the right side of the panel. You have to take the dashboard bottom off or go under it.

Nice idea about the ignition kill switch, by the way.

Does the ABS light on the instrument panel light up when you kill the ABS?

I had that idea as well since we have an empty slot there, but I wasn't sure if those switches were simple toggle switches capable of handling the amperage of the circuit, or if they are another type of switch using much less amperage that activates another switch somewhere else that can handle the amperage.

The way you're doing it will probably look nicer when you're done, I was thinking of checking if there's a way to change the clear "Cruise" lettering to read "ABS." That would look sweet.

Luckily the toggle switches at my local radio shack were about the right size and are a nice flat black, I'm planning on putting my switch in the smaller slot that's one step to the right of the empty toggle-switch slot.

Yes it lights up. I don't know when the CEL goes away though, maybe when you flip the switch back, or maybe you have to flip the switch back and then restart the car...

Here's another thread that may be of use:

ABS switch install guide.

If you use the relay fuse (the hidden one behind the dash) you can turn ABS on and off while you drive.

If you use the fuse directly behind the coin tray you'll have to turn the car off and back on to get ABS back.

The ABS light on the dash will turn on and off to indicate if it's working.

Edit: I just moved servers so the link to the guide won't work until the pointer updates. Use this in the meantime.. ABS Switch Install Guide
