Default New Paint for Wheels....Help me out Guys!

Hey Guys, currently, I have 17x9 +30 Rota Torque R's with 245/40 RE-01R's. They are FRSB from Suby Dude. I forgot to tell the shop that mounted/balanced/fitted them to NOT put in the center caps, and after, when I took them off, I realized when they put them in, they were pretty aggressive, so some paint was chipped off on all 4 wheels. I am also growing bored of the color lol. Here are a couple pictures.

I want to do a custom color. I don't want White, Grey, Black and have it plain. I want something nice, but nothing ricey either like pink or orange (no offense TimeAtk LOL). I was going to do this the proper way since rattle cans seem a little cheap. Also, I'm not doing powdercoated, I am going to search around for a friend with a paint gun and see if he can mix colors for me customly and come up with something.

I was thinking of a dark green. Something that appears BLACK, but in direct sunlight and up close, it has shades of pearl green, or teal. Somewhat like JBP. Not in direct sun, it's black, but when your in sun and look in angles, it has shades of gold. There is a website that sells tons of these pearl pigments to mix with colors or clear, so I'm not sure what I want to do. Olive green? Flat or Clear? Teal? Black with teal/green/blue glitter? With Pearl? I have NO idea. I have red lugs and horns BTW, I am willing to sell red lugs and buy BLACK and paint the horns, so LET ME KNOW PEEPS!

Here are a couple of pictures.
John

Here is a picture of the glitter that I would put in say some BLACK paint and mix it, or add it in the clear and paint OVER the black base...not sure.

Yeh, I think a darker look with this aggressive fitment would make it look meaner.

Yeh, I think seafoam is the sickest out of the 3. It has a sick, metallic teal look.

YES! That is another thing that came into my mind, the Green/Blue sparkles in the OBP. That is why I want a teal instead of blue or just green.

Hmm, I don't like dark blue, I want it to be a little teal, and I don't think there is a dark teal out there, so I have to put a good amount of teal pigment/sparkles in black paint to give it a teal look. I'm still undecided.

For your info... you have a black car.. if you match that with something dark like dark green or dark whatever.. it will look like ****..

The only "non-boring" colors you can match or contrast with black are brighter colors, ie. Teal, yellow, orange, green, or white.

I think you should do pearl Lime green

anyway, i like your idea. i would suggest a more forest-type green pearl to mix in.. that would be sick

on a third note, do you have more shots of the wheels? i have been considering getting torques again, and i like the FRSB color.

Ok, first off, dark color wheels on a dark car is NOT ****. Have you seen anyone aggressive black wheels on a black car? It is mean as FCUK! Look at some drifter silva's or s13's that are black/black with aggressive fitment and tell me if that looks like ****. Lime Green=FCUK no! The only color I'm willing to do is OLIVE GREEN or TEAL. But that is gonna attract attention and look a little ricer.

....Okay if you have any common sense in colors, you would already know that I was not referring to black on black.. and the examples you mentioned above are ALL black on black...

second of all in your above post you mentioned something like you don't want black rims.. how does my post contradict anything that you are saying?

I stand by my opinion that is, dark colors on black for example: dark green, dark blue, dark brown whatever looks like crap on OBP.

Well, sorry, from what I understand, you said something dark, and if it's dark green or dark blue, it will pretty much appear black unless in direct sunlight. So that's what I meant. And I didn't say I didn't want black because it was ugly, I just wanted something different. I already had black/black with my stockers.

So what do you think I should do then? Should I just run olive green like this helmet? lol (serious)

How many "what color should my wheels be painted" threads are there going to be??

Anyways, I would go with the Olive Green.

Damn it. Well, did you clean the wheels, and sand em, and reclean em, primer, paint, clear? Or did you just clean and add 6 coats of this paint? I'm interested.

Haha, good EYE! That is the Evo my friend sent me a pic of. It was at HellaFlush this past saturday and that is after I told him the color I was looking for. He showed me this picture below. It's too much green, I want something with a little blue in it, therefore teal. But I like it, I think I'm going to go with a darker teal like that, not black with teal sparkles, I'll do the whole wheel TEAL so it will be sick.
