Radio Fuse Blowing
Hello, I own a 2002 WRX 2.0T. Here it goes: so recently I had fixed an alternator issue... by simply plugging in the main plug to the cluster unit. Ever since then fuse 9 (radio fuse) seems to blow out. If the plug on the top of the cluster is plugged in the fuse will blow, radio in or not. I’m guessing it’s shorting the power wire but I can’t find anywhere that would be. Should I snip a wire, or should I take the whole dash apart. I’m very confused and honestly I just want my radio to work without my car slowly dying. Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thank you so much and hope you all are staying safe, healthy, and happy!

Definitely a short. Factory or aftermarket radio? I'm assuming its aftermarket, and probably not due to a faulty alternator. Might want to pull the radio out and see how the wire splices look on the positive wire. If the fuse is blowing, too many amp are being pulling between the fuse end and the "other" end, which should be the radio end.

so radio was working fine before the alternator issue?
after alternator issue, the fuse no9 keeps blowing? i'm certain the no9 fuse will be linked in with other things aswell, not just the headunit. |
