Default Wearing RE960 SAs and almost new RE92s

hey guys...i have RE960 sa pole position tires on my car...the fronts need to be replaced...i have a pair of re92s in my garage hardly used

question is...should i put the re92s on the front or should i switch the rear 960s to the front and put the re92s on the rear

the rear 960s have wear but not as bad as the front and could have a couple years left in them...but i hope to replace all 4 tires next year

car is a 2000 impreza RS...original owner

much thanks!

If you car is being used as a daily driver:

1) RE960 AS has been discontinued for a while now. How old are these RE960? and the same question about these RE92 tires. Are they close to being 10 years old? If so, you need new tires.

2) General rule of thumb is that the tires with more threads/traction goes to the rear of the car. However, you are not only mixing two sets of tires but also from two different categories, which is not recommended. You are putting your differentials at risk by doing this.

3) Since you are in the NE and winter is only starting, I think it would be best that you replace all 4 now. Gambling with your life and others who shares the road with you is not worth it for you to try and get that one more year out of those tires.
