Default Overriding the Brake Override System

Hello All,

On newer cars, our beloved Subarus included, there is a safety feature that cuts the engine if the brakes and gas are simultaneously engaged for longer than 2 seconds. It is called the brake override system.

As you can imagine, this does not allow you to brake boost and left foot brake for long periods of time:

I have tried disconnecting the brake light switch but the system still kicks in. The only time I was able to disable it was to pull fuses for the VDC (vehicle dynamics controller), however that killed the speedo and made my dash light up like a Christmas tree.

Does anyone know how to disable/hack/override this "feature" seemlessly?

It's probably a software feature within the brake control module and not something you can change.

Turn the nannies all the way off and this “feature” turns off too.
Gotta hold the button for 5s till trac mode goes off only leaving tcs disabled light on.
