best interior speakers for wrx?
im about to install the pioneer p6500dvd and i want some badass door speaker and rears. i want something with badass quality (bc ill be playing dvds and ps2) yet i dont want anything in my trunk bc of weight issues.
i dont really mind getting an amp, im just a n00b at ice. so what are the best interior speakers, price not being too big of an issue? thx

you do realize speakers can go into the thousands of dollars per set right?
that being said, you might want to be more specific about "price not being too big of an issue" |

I'm assuming it would include deadening too, right? (it's absolutely needed if you want to get good sound out of your front speakers)
so $500 for 2 pairs of speakers, deadening, and an amp....does that headunit have a built in amp for the speakers? It might not be much, but it should be enough to power your rear fill |

In that case, I would budget about $80 for rears, $150 for fronts, $150 for an amp for the fronts, $50 for deadening, and the other $70 for shipping, wiring, and other misc expenses. Brands to look at for the speakers would be CDT, Alpine, maybe the Focal Access line if it'll fit...I'm sure other people will post recommendations, I haven't researched speakers in that price range in quite a while so I'm kind of clueless. For an amp, Hifonics, DEI, JBL, etc would all be pretty decent choices, and I'll have an Avionixx for sale shortly if you're interested [/shameless plug]. For deadening, secondskin, raammat (I honestly think I spell that differently every time I try), b-quiet, and brownbread are all good choices.
Honestly though I don't think you're going to get the bass response you're going to want without a sub. It is possible to get some pretty damn good bass with 6.5s, but not in the price range you're looking in. Your only real option is to get a sub, even if it's just a 10. You can always address that issue later though if you think you need to. |

The Focal Access 2-way component system (165CA?) fit in my STi. Not sure I'd buy them again, but they do fit... People who listen to them in my car seem to like them, but personally I think they're a bit mediocre. Admittedly, I haven't had the time to finish tuning the system, though.
Personally, I'd ditch the rears for now and put that extra $80 into some better fronts! If you buy crappy fronts and crappy rears now, you'll end up replacing both sets of speakers and spending more money in the long run. Buy some decent fronts now, then add some decent rears a little later when you have some more bucks... |
