Thank you for that. I am currently on page 16 lol just reading while I am at work and on my phone during my bathroom breaks I know some ways to tell. Yeah, the guy seems honest so far. At least he didn't lie about the miles, he told me he has no idea himself and that no body really knows the exact miles on a JDM motor unless they're lying or from a reputable company who ships these things all the time. Will be continuing, I have till Sunday(he's holding it for me atm till I make a decision). Thanks again for the suggestions.

Pull the timing cover off and look above the oil filter and if it reads "70x" it is a 207. If it reads "50x" it is a 205... what version is more about internals and accessories.

alright.
got my power steering issue solved. Now im trying to figure out the P0365.
I read that if it goes away when you get on the throttle its probably the wiring. I havent had a tune yet, so ive only lightly revved the engine. would that make it go out if it was wiring? Is it possible its just the cam pos sensor went bad?
ive tried doing research but kinda just get sent in circles. Im rereading this whole thread now.

im going to try and go in and find the filters on the solenoid tomorrow to see if one is blocked. can anyone hint as to where exactly they are?
thanks

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I'll be doing some work on the car tomorrow to try and resolve the po365, I'll let you know if I can figure it out. Let me know if you find anything.

earlier in this thread we've deducted only earlier v7's had this screen. If you find the screens in your later motor lets us know.

sometimes they sit at just the right point that they are too far away from the cam and just out of reach of reading it which becomes a problem but thats on ej257's i have read about.

I have a 2003 EJ207 V8 from a Spec-C and it definitely does have the screens. I pulled them out of the AVCS banjos. I will check the turbo feed later next week.

Good to know Ken, I'm speculating that perhaps some previous owners in Japan had them removed during ownership, before front clips were exported for salvage use.
USDM 04 STi owners have the screens, so it stands to reason SOJ had the practice of using the screens at least till '04 in some variants.
Note the AVCS screen removal bulletin was sent out late 05 by SOA.

Sidenote: I was glad to find my screens had no debris whatsoever when I pulled them out after close to 10 years of abuse through this motor. The screens are really fine so any bit of dirt, filings can clog these guys up.

are the stock 565 cc injectors that come standard in the ej207 too small for a blouch 16g-xt to get the most out of the turbo?

Coldcutt,
mine came down to going through my wiring again and realizing that i mixed up pin 5 & 7 on the grey harness connector. check that you referenced the view properly.
the second i switched the pins, i got rid of the CEL.

now just fab the dp, get my gauges & tune!

BHP is base hp so at the crank. take 15% off that to get like 320whp. just upgrade injectors for the 16G xt. it flows 41lb/min so about 410 crank/base hp. you will fall about 20hp short of what the turbo can do with the stock injectors. thats given your at a aggressive 11.3 afr and not tapering it richer up top were it flows the majority of the duty cycle. 650's would be a good upgrade. all this is based off the 380bhp posted above. my 565's are almost maxed right now on my vf37 pushing it really hard. its good for like 37lb/min i believe.

380 @ flywheel, we dont do wheel HP this side of the pond.

I would say you are nearer losing 19% on an AWD car at the wheels.

I'd get bigger ones. You can sell your old ones to make up most of the cost anyways.

BHP is "Brake" horsepower not base hp. And yes it is measured at the output shaft or flywheel. It will be the highest hp number displayed. Wheel horsepower is useable hp.

its not about brands, its about flow. Talk to your tuner to see what he'll work with. IMO, minimally 650s for that 16g-xt should be enough on pump gas.

just get something in the 1000-1200cc range and you wont have to worry about them unless you go way big on the turbo.

I am running ID1000s on E85 with the stock VF36 and am hitting low 90% IDCs with peak 24psi tapering to ~15psi at redline. If you are planning on going e85 plan ahead.

I like the Five-O motorsports 1200s, they tuned beautifully on Amroof's setup and you can't beat the price. I was planning on upgrading to them since the ID1000s are more like 850-900cc in practice and I prefer more headroom.

sorry always thought it was base. on an engineering standpoint i hold constants for tests as the base and it just changes from there. so i figured the outputshaft/flywheel would be base w/ anything post output shaft would be less. sorry for any confusion.

I won't say anything about the Japanese considering my lovely wife is Japanese and my beautiful daughter is half Japanese. I realize we have a little history with you guys also but stay friends, lol.

Are you guys fueling, in the Tristate Area?
I think I'll stick with driving the Mercedes for now, the Diesel fuel is of only one possible grade and may be actually easier to get at this point.
Worst case scenario, I'll buy Crisco and fuel it, at least I'll make it to work.

This morning I was happy cause my per gear boost compensations worked pretty good. BTW, that table is also displayed wrong in Romraider.
