Default 09 wrx sputtering under WOT stg1 tune

I just recently bought a used 09 wrx... I just got my first mod for it, the Cobb accessport... I reflashed the tune to their stg1 ACN tune. And it worked great for the first couple of days... then a few days ago it started sputtering even when i was just cruising... it's really bad and not making full boost on WOT plus it's backfiring. does anyone have any suggestions? I already uninstalled the accessport and it's still doing the same thing... I was thinking maybe a bad cat?

Check your AFR's on the Cobb, see if everything looks ok.

After that I would start checking connections.
Is your O2 Sensor plugged in.
Are the injectors all plugged in.
How does your hosing look. Are all the clamps tight.

Sputtering can be caused by a number of different things. Bad injectors, bad spark plugs, bad AFR readings from the MAF.
Start looking at the hardware pieces first. After that try resetting the ECU and reinstalling the tune.

Last question, do you have any other mods on your car other than the accessport?

Cats don't go bad overnight, I doubt it's that. Sounds like a sensor to me. Check your MAF and TPS sensors via your accessport.

It's crazy though... No smoke no over heating, no weird smell... just the car is in limp mode with no CEL. And also it seems much louder on the front of the exhaust not the exit... that's why I was thinking the cat

Yes, reinstall the accessport and flash the stage 1 map since the car is stock.

Secondly there is a video on how to data log with the accessport, it's a little goofy but the fundamentals are there.

If you can get a data log, you can upload it to something like google drive and share a link so we all can see it. Are there any current check engine lights indicating a code is stored?

If it was the CAT then you should be throwing a P0420 code with a CEL, if you are not throwing one, the odds are good that it's fine.

What is the current mileage on that engine?

83k... I took everything off and took it to the dealer and they think it might be the clutch?? Which is weird because there is no problem in any gear shifting or down shifting...

Yeah no CEL, no weird smell, no smoke no over heating... it's crazy... I hope it's something small... the only code i ever got was I got 4 codes for every cylinder misfire but once I cleared it everything was fine... it didn't even throw a CEL... and it never felt like this

its a very easy mod, you will throw a check engine code for it though that will need to be removed.

remove the entire SAI system.
no i had no symptoms, i just removed the system to avoid problems down the line.

You are right by me, i am in Temple City, but you can get anyone with access to the cobb accesstuner software to remove the code for you if you have the accesport. I do all my dyno tuning through Church Auto, but you can try one of the shops up closer north if its just a code removal and not a tune.

if you want some help i can help you with the plugs after you get the SAI figured out, and the car is driveable.
its a very common issue on these cars if you google it, main reason people just remove the whole pump.

im no use right now because my car is down until monday while i wait to get tuned for e85.

the car isnt showing ANY ecm codes? could you post a log

That would be great sir! The SAI has to wait till Monday atleast because I'm gone all weekend for a wedding... I can log it when I get back too... so I got a quote for a shop in Torrance to do my SAI, they want $400... is that a good price? I'm just worried about removing the intake mani and all the other stuff...

Check the fuel filter. If it looks dirty, take it out and do a quick test drive without it.
