![]() Occasionally, when doing a full throttle U turn in first gear, or driving around, my brakes will make a sound, as if they've reached the warning indicator on the pads. It goes away pretty quickly. What I'm guessing is, when putting on the WRX rotors and calipers, I didn't switch to WRX dust shields. This is allowing rocks or whatever to occasionally get stuck between my rotor and dust shield, causing a horrible screeching noise. I'm not that worried about it now that I know what's causing it. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone else who may have been wondering what the noise was.
Oh one more thing, it seems to take 2 pushes of the brake pedal to get full pressure on those 2 piston fronts. Anyone else experience this? They work fine on one push but the pedal feels better if I press it twice. The car has 114k on it. Could it be due for a master cylinder? Also, is there an upgrade I should get, like a WRX MC or other subaru MC?

![]() Exactly. At first I thought it needed to be bled again, but I'm thinking the stock MC just doesn't have enough pressure for those 2 pots. I wonder how much bigger the WRX MC is, compared to the L one.

![]() I put wrx brakes (and dust shields
![]() My brakes are stronger as they are now than stock, with a hardly detectable increase in pedal travel, which will probably get worse when I get the rear brakes on (which is why I plan the change to a larger MC.) Your 2 push issue is interesting. The wrx MC is 1 1/16", but may be non-compatible with your current MC setup. I have to go with a Legacy MC, personally, so it's something to check out. |
