The screen is in the banjo bolt on the passenger side head feeding to the turbo, I'm not sure about cleaning that often I just completely removed mine.

In case you don't know what to look for.

I just did a general search and found about 15 threads on the topic.

i didn't see anything like that in my banjo bolt, that pic on your link looks bigger than my banjo bolt alone, i can't imagine that filter fitting in it.

yes, it is the banjo bolt on the cylinder head - the line then goes to the smaller turbo banjo bolt...

Thanks much. I'll call my mechanic and see if he suggests inspection intervals. I use synthetic oil and oem filters which I change far too often so maybe not, but I'd like to hear it from an expert.

Does anyone have a proper guide as to how to remove this stupid bolt? I really dont want to have to remove the turbo just for one single bolt. I already have the new bolt (will be taking the filter out of it) and the gaskets for the up-turbo and turbo-dp (costs $30usd at grimmspeed). Totaly cost including coolant and oil, washers/bolt/gaskets is around 70-80 all for one singke bolt (who the hell designed it like this?!) My 09 wrx's turbo is being starved. Iv got the p0011 code. Any ideas as to how I can more easily get this bolt out. I already know where the bolts location is, its just a matter of getting it out and properly torqued back down. HAAALLPPP pwweeezee

is it possible to purchase the screens separately instead of buying an entirely new bolt?

On my car (2011 sti) the turbo banjo have no screen but the oil control valve banjo bolts have screens and they were clearly different bolts.

Why? Most people just remove the screens and never reinstall them.
To answer your question, I believe the answer is no...
