Default How many miles before first mod?

Havenít seen any recent threads on this and most threads were about what mods to add.

Just put in a factory order for a LBP WRX Limited and curious to hear how long people waited before they started to mod on a brand new car?

The last Subaru I had was an 07 WRX, excited to get back in the fold!

i started with simple stuff within 1500 miles. simple being sound deadener, speaker upgrades. i certainly wouldnt do any mechanical modifications until you have a few thousand on it, and depending on how much you value your warranty.

I'd wait 5,000 miles just to be sure there's no mechanical defect that you got and will need your warranty.

After that the likelihood that you got a lemon is almost zero so mod away

I started with an AP around 5900 and went bolt-on and flex around 7200. Had no plans to do that before covid hit and I found myself reading more and more about how to mod the FA properly.

Default First mods

Thanks for the info, will prob need to control myself for the first 6+ months and take it slow...

I don't plan to go crazy (famous last words for sure) and would like to keep the car as "low key" as possible unlike the 20 year old self who wanted the loudest CBE and blow off sound even to the detriment of actual performance

This car will be my DD and just want to improve the overall drivability of it. I've driven the 20 a bit some and am somewhat familiar with the feel of it.

Planning to do the following:
  • xpel clear bra
  • tint
  • boomba or kartboy sts with new bushings, shift plate, and shifter stop
  • rear swar bar w/end links
  • IAG AOS
  • ap stage 1

Open to other ideas/suggestions.

As mentioned it's been about 10+ years since my last Subaru and excited to re-join the community again!

positive shift kit and type n trans mount, pitch stop, and better brake pads. definately get the clear bra fast if you are going to get it, the paint on these cars is soft, and needs protection.

I'd second this. I installed my first tune around 6000 miles.
