Default will an auto trans from a wrx work with an sti eng?

as stated my dads 2004 wrx eng blew and we found a 2006 sti eng for like 800$ (my uncles salvage yard) but he needs an auto due to a blown shoulder so will it work or no? and if it will what would it take to make work?

as far as mounting, they are the same engine. No probs. You will need the ECU also.
