Default what not to do, and then post a Youtube video...

This is kind of a warning, as I came across this video last week on Youtube:

this "auto enthusiast" somehow managed to lower the level of his CVT transmission fluid on his WRX, and when it was not shifting correctly drove it into his local dealer for troubleshooting and warranty repair.

They denied it as a warranty item, because it showed up at the dealer low on transmission fluid. He proceeds to complain about that warranty denial, the end result is, after quoting $8,000 to replace the CVT, they topped off the fluid, marked his VIN as a warranty denial, and sent him home.

Later, he acknowledges in another video that he plans to or has already sold this car to someone else so he can get a different car to tune...

Caveat Emptor, hopefully the buyer of this car was aware that the Youtube diary of how to void your warranty and shorten the life of your transmission was posted for everyone to see.

PS: I no longer own my WRX, but wanted the NASIOC community to be aware of this video and issue, watch it yourself, make your own conclusions...
